Aaron is reporting that he has confirmed that Hall has been dismissed from the football team. Wow. Can our depth at CB get any worse? Given how the staff was raving about his potential in the ST return game and how he played both at CB and on ST's as a true freshman, he was a pretty important piece to our depth at CB this coming year.
I hope Caffey adjusts quickly in his transition from RB, Simmons fixes whatever it is that has kept him off the field the last couple of years, and that Tiller, Reed and Quinn come in this summer ready to get after it. Unless I am forgetting about someone, the only scholarship CB's on the roster now going into spring practice are.....Dixon, Rice and Simmons. I would assume this also removes any doubt that Neloms will move back to CB (which is unfortunate as he is most valuable in helping out against the run instead of in coverage), leaving FS and SS to Faulkner, Lowery and others who may battle for a starting spot back there.
if true, no tears from me. obviously his awful rep from high school didnt improve one bit in college.
what a dislikeable kid from the second Joker offered him a scholarship. "yeah, that's nice, but can't wait to hear from some better schools like Cincy or Louisville." Then the vid of him being cheered on by the rest of the St X sausage party tackling a security guard into a pool.
Any indication as to the reason given?
Neeley said as of Friday Hall was still on the team.
I tend to think the reports must be true, but thats what UK spokesperson said Saturday
I was hoping Hall was like so many other 16-18 yr old star athletes who are a bit full of themselves and crave attention, but then get their ass in gear once they get to college and are no longer the big man on campus. I have no idea why he was kicked off the team (assuming its true), but it doesn't look like he got his act together like most hoped he would.
I have a pretty good guess based on first hand stories I've been told, but certainly don't want to start rumors about a kid, but he's been described by many as a loose cannon, as the spring break vid seems to show.. It's a shame he has to be a maniac both on and off the field. Lord knows we could sure use his crazy energy on the field!

Yeah, this is one guy I hoped for the best out of, but never had very high expectations from.
This stinks. It's hard to be very optimistic about next year's defense. Take two all conference caliber players (and DT should have been an All American) off of an already mediocre defense and remove all depth at corner. Yikes! Hopefully the freshmen come in ready to play, like you said mj. The D line is shaping up to be pretty good, hopefully we'll have a good pass rush and not put too much pressure on our secondary.
I'm actually pretty excited for our defense next year. Significant amount of young talent on that side of the ball. Cobble, Rumph, Coleman, Douglas, Dupree, Williamson, Lowery, should lead an improved defense next season.

I don't think Hall would have factored in heavily. But I agree I think UK has some good looking prospects for a solI'd defense next year.
UK has had some dissapointing attrition amongst youngsters at CB in Preister, Trimble, and now Hall.
I talked to Trimble the other day. Says he's going to a Juco in Miss.
i can agree with you there. frustrating to say the least.
I was never a fan of offering him in the first place. I guess he proved me right unfortunately.
Tend to agree...low rated kid we take an early verbal on. Dixon, Lowrey and Faulkner were all ahead of him more likely..Dixon was ahead at the same CB spot. Then we bring in a heavy DB class this year. We had 4-6 schollies over the 85 limit, so some had to go...this is fine by me.
If true, it opens up a potential scholarship for Sheehan
"Apparently the University of Kentucky basketball dynasty is to continue forever." - Philadelphia Inquirer, December 23 1954.
With UK signing the full allotment of 25 Sheehan can not get a scholly this year. Hall's departure does get us closer to offering a scholarship to any walk on who has been in the program at least two years. Coshik Williams and Mikie Benton are leading candidates but we still would have to lose a few more to get under the 85 limit.

I think he's talking about the down the road for Sheehan not this year.
