Tony Neely issued a statement, saw it elsewhere.
Sux, but life goes on . . .
Whatever he did wouldn't surprise anyone. As Barnie said to Andy in regards to Ernest T Bass: "He's a nut".
Next man up!
Unfortunately only a matter of time, but I was hoping.
Another scholarship for the upcoming class.
I never had very high expectations for him....so I suppose I can't say that I'm disappointed....
"Kentucky Football needs to be and will be a championship contender in the SEC."~Mitch Barnhart 11/4/12
This would hurt less if we had more than 3 returning corners.
Really hate to sound stupid and incredibly uninformed.....but who is Daylen Hall and what are we losing?
He was a corner and potential returner on ST. Great speed. Decent cover skills. His loss will be felt if the incoming FR don't come prepared to play.
"Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm." ~ Emerson
Thanks mine blue brethren....
After that spring break video surfaced last summer, it's hard to be surprised by this. Kid seems like a bit of a wild one.
Probably should have never been given a scholarship in the first place.
Poor judgment on CJP's part.
Yeah heaven forbid we take a chance on a kid with talent and a bad rep to go with it.....like the rest of the SEC does on a yearly basis.
^ well, the rest of the SEC is more willing to coddle it's troubled players and put up with their bad behavior. However, if Joker is going to run a tighter ship, then he shouldn't take as many risks as programs that let kidds get away with crap. Also, I wouldn't exactly call Hall the kind of player that is worth taking a big risk on if you think he's probably gonna be a behavior problem. Not that he dfoesn't have potential, just saying, if you're gonna take a risk on a trouble maker, shouldn't he be a 4/5 * kind of guy that can make a major immediate imnpact? I don't see other SEC schools taking gambles on guys that aren't even wanted by the rest of the SEC. Best wishes to the kid though. Hope he gets his ish together.
Kid just needs to grow up. Has the talent but way to immature. This really forces Caffey to be ready at CB and one of the freshman CB's to be ready.
Could we see Neloms moved back to CB? Dixon?
If the season started today we would have Rice as one starter and Hudnell or Simmons at the other corner. Unless Neloms or Dixon moves over and only Neloms has experience at CB(college).
i do not see how this can be used as a knock for CJP. the kid f'd up while he was in high school. CJP decided to give him a 2nd chance. Calipari is willing to give 2nd chances all the time.
i am sure CJP let him know 1 slip up and your gone the kid had one and now you see the result.
i see no issue with this.
Exactly. This is a immaturity issue, not a CJP issue.
Sent you a pm.
Can't blame Joker. Every division 1 coach takes chances with players with talent but other baggage. It is more necessary at a school like UK that does not usually get the top choices. I just wish we had more depth at the position, but that may be the reason the staff took a chance on him.
Daylen needs to give his daddy a phone call, cause he is in the CJ this morning saying he heard his son got kicked off the team on the radio. And complaining that noone at UK called to tell him or has given him an explanation. Hey pops, why not ask your hellraiser boy what happened? Pretty sure he would know why he was kicked out and why! Instead of issuing a plea through the press....sheesh.
yeah, the "kid" was 19 years old and not a kid any more pops. You should expect a call from your son explaining things instead of shifting blame on the university. Unbelievable
Having a kid in college, there's a lot of things that the schools are not allowed to tell the parents nowadays if the kid is over 18. For example, I can't see her grades without her permission, nor can I see her bills from the school (though she's more than happy to let me see those!) Also, I recall someone saying during recruiting that Daylen's wild streak was an inherited trait - the apple didn't fall far from the tree...
