"Kentucky Football needs to be and will be a championship contender in the SEC."~Mitch Barnhart 11/4/12
Don't know how much of a chance we really had but I really wanted this kid...damn
#BBN #WeAreUK #BoyleCountyAlum
UNC also got his DT teammate. Big pickup by them. I thought for sure his final three would be WVU, Notre Dame, and us with Texas getting into the pic. Didnt see UNC getting him.

UK football fans should expect to be able to recruit AT LEAST as good as unc year in and year out (excluding their in-state kids). We have better facilities and play in the sec. Yet we're typically nowhere close to unc in recruiting. Very frustrating.
Well you win some, you lose some. I think they're still looking for a player at the defensive end/linebacker hybrid spot, so I expect they will close the deal on a good player there.
Well when a kid wants to play with his teammate its hard to recruit against that. We had offered Webb but never heard much interest from him. Once he decommitted from PSU and then committed to UNC it was pretty much a done deal.
Dajaun R. Drennon @Most_Jaunted
Figured out what college ill be going to and my roomate in a matter of 15 min #TarheelNation
It smells like microwaved homeless people in here.
Agree with Warmother. Also maybe they want to play for a team on probation where there's no pressure to win?

I'd follow this UNC investigation pretty closely. It ain't over yet.
Also, UK had a legit shot at Dajuan.
Weather is generally nicer in North Carolina...also, it is closer to the beach.
He committed elsewhere, not gonna cry cuz a guy wanted to play with his teammate. Best of luck to him but good riddance. We want guys who want to play here and succeed. We will get a player who will excel at the same position as Drennon, I'm not sweating this. On to the next one. I'm looking forward to hearing a report to how all the guys who were visiting today liked their visits. We get some commits from those guys, and Drennon will be forgotten about. The twins and Yancey, and it will be a VERY successful weekend in my eyes.
Probably an African-American Studies major. Those classes are filling up fast!
What? That is so wrong on so many levels!
He's referring to the class at UNC that currently has then in trouble. No attendance necessary, primarily for athletes.
It is not so wrong as you might think.
" There were the Afro-American Studies summer classes that were limited to an enrollment of one student – and often that one student was an athlete. There was no attendance or instruction for many of those classes, the News & Observer reported.
All told, there have been 54 Afro-American Studies classes labeled "suspect" by the school's internal investigation. More than half of the students in those classes were athletes. The N&O reported that all but nine of the classes had Nyang'oro listed as the instructor or the signer of the grade rolls.
For a school that holds itself in high academic regard, this is as tawdry as it gets.
History professor Jay Smith was part of a large group of academicians that issued a statement in February on UNC athletic principles, urging openness, responsibility and mission consistency. Since then, he has seen the situation get exponentially worse.
"Of course it's academic fraud," Smith wrote in an email. "And it's a form of fraud that was designed (by whom we can't say yet) to keep athletes eligible, making plausible 'progress toward the degree.' "
Read about what has been going on at North Carolina.
From Yahoo! Sports: Bubba Cunningham has big plans for UNC athletics program but must first deal with problems in the classroom.
I never really wanted Drennon anyway... (sobbing and snotting on myself)
Plus we saw how unc recruited in the past, do we really want to go that route?
under Davis totally, willing to give Fedora the benefit of the doubt until i see otherwise
Wait on this one, I bet it isn't over cause of the UNC scandal. UNC is going to get hit hard with lack of institutional control and academic fraud. I'll be shocked if they don't get hit with 3-4 year bowl ban and a major reduction in ships.
UNC and Miami both could end up with penalties similar to what Penn St. just got hit with.
And UNC is a “basketball” school. Go Blue!
I think we are too. Even though I wish we could move to something like 50/50 or 60/40 football.

It won't be anything close to Penn State. It will be closer to what USC received. Which is pretty much everything that Penn State received minus the fine.
