I think he's coming to Kentucky. Why announce your decision in Kentucky, in front of Kentucky fans, if you're going to announce for South Carolina?
Keep Calm & Stoops On..
Where else would he announce it? I think Kentucky but I will not be suprised if its South Carolina. I will be Bamboozled lmao ! Go big blueeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
I don't have any insider info, but I have this feeling that Barker let the UK staff know his intentions at the spring game.
not trying to be funny but many recruits announce at their high schools for out of state schools.
if he wants a ceremony, where else would he do it?
kinda feel the same way about our chances. I "think" it will be us but will not be surprised if he announces for UK.
yeah that's what's interesting, he's certainly given our coaches reason to believe he will announce for us. I don't think he's playing either one of us. I think it's a tough choice and before he set his announcement date a few days ago for next friday, he was torn. I'd like to hear from the staff here or from someone in the know if they've heard anything since he set his announcement that would lead them to believe he's favoring UK or South Carolina.
I'm trying to understand why South Carolina feels so sure about him. I mean, Kentucky has a lot in their favor...
are you talking about other SC fans b/c I surely did not say/imply that I feel good about getting him?
Think he meant the coaching staff but I could be wrong.
I think he may of meant in general. Look at Barker's crystal ball predictions for reference.
He's refrencing the SC "insiders".
he would hold a "normal" press conference if he was announcing for sc and not have the entire school there. Northern Kentucky is big time UK country. He'll get booed if he doesn't pick uk.
I think it's UK.
Well, from what I've seen in just the 4 or 5 years I've been following this stuff, someone going out of state generally will skip the high school thing if his high school is full of home state fans, and go strictly through a national media platform with close family and friends. I have seen it the other way too though, and it is generally quite an awkward affair. He will essentially be telling a school full of blue what they don't want to hear. Also, he hasn't exactly been shy about saying everyone is welcome to come and wants all local media there from what I have heard. Still, I would not be shocked if he chose USCe, we did get on him a little late due to our previous inept staff.
As some one with no pony in this race it would be a tough choice. With UK you instantly become an icon in this state and play close to home in the premier college football league. At USC they worship football, have a legend for a head coach, play for a current national power. At UK you are coming to a fixing process which may not be fully ready by the time you get to play. At USC you may never beat out the rest of the QB roster to play. It certainly looks like it comes down to playing time and staying home versus playing for a potential champion of the SEC or greater.
It would be a hard pill to swallow if he were to go to USCe, and I'm sure he is well aware of this. With all the hype for UK FB right now I just can't see him turning his back on us.
I think USCe insiders are thinking UK are us its us plus they were the prohibitive favorite for a long time. But I dont think they are right this time and USCe is gonna be unhappy
Everything looks to KY, especially given his relationship with the Ohio recruits. I will be shocked if he goes elsewhere, but I am sure Gamecock fans will think the same. Either way it is a two horse race.
Rumors floating around indicate that he has already given UK the verbal. This must be devastating to USCjr since they had Barker all wrapped up and a bow tied until Stoops landed in Lexington.

I just dont undertand why the previous staff did not recruit Barker. Im beginning to think they thought he was out of reach more than not good enough. When I think about the last staffs recruiting I wanna puck lol they just flat conceded to other schools.
South Carolina does not exactly have a pedigree for developing quarterbacks. I do not see it as such a tough choice. His best friend will be a walk-on wide receiver at Lexington. He has a bunch of friends at Kentucky. He is close to the Ohio recruits. I could still see him picking South Carolina, but I do not see where selling point is.
What did Joker think he was gonna out coach the top coaches in the SEC. You have to have top 25 classes to stay on par with the SEC.
He's been to UK 20 times since Stoops was hired and to USC maybe two...don't actions speak louder than words?
No way it's not UK.
Of course it wasn't because they didn't think he was good enough. Clearly they conceded to other schools.
I think he picks UK, but I think USCe was the clear leader for a long time. That's probably the reason for the national "crystal ball" predictions.
Absent CMS and Brown, I think he definitely chooses USCe. He may not be a UK lock, but I think it's more likely than not that UK is the choice.
If he chooses USCe, I certainly hope he doesn't get booed in his own damn HS. I may not be the Barker fan I would be if he choose the blue and white, but I would hope he has success at USCe, except for when he plays UK.
Well they did produce the kid that went to the Dolphins last year. Otherwise, I will agree with your point.
Thaddeus Snodgrass mentioned 3 or 4 commits coming in the next few weeks. Only one of our targets has an announcement date set... the next likeliest to commit, Taylor and Edwards, have both set timetables beyond that window. LaRubbio has no timetable, Kief, West, others the same.
