You should probably do a little research before commenting on other fan bases. 2013 spring game attendance:
South Carolina: 35,218
In addition, Kentucky has ranked in nation's top 25 in attendance 12 of the last 15 years since stadium was expanded, averaging at least 60,000 in all but two seasons, one if which was last year when those fans that "couldn't care less" were making a statement for change by not showing up.
But sure, go ahead and generalize without a real shred of reality to back it up.

I think it all points to UK when you look at the indicators. He talks to Cam Fogle everyday, and is also pretty close with other UK recruits. I agree with Josh, it just doesn't seem S. Carolina has much going for them. Also a previous poster is correct, Northern Kentucky is a HUGE UK area. You'll be hard-pressed to find a family that doesn't have at least one UK fan in the household. I respect South Carolina and what Spurrier has achieved in the past few years, but this one has to be UK.
Not devastating......we will either win with him or beat him...kind of how we look at recruiting these days.
He said it because a South Carolina fan called UK "KU." It is called a joke, "bro." Are you really offended on a Kentucky board?
This is what I hate. No one can have a decent debate anymore without getting offended. South Carolina has had a few good seasons and all of a sudden their fans have a huge sense of entitlement. Didnt realize you won the title last year.
I hope berating Kentucky makes you feel better. You were in their shoes not too long ago.
That's pretty cocky for a team that's has only recently became a top 20 type program. You had better want every top recruit you can get. In this conference a player here or there can be the difference in 7 and 10 wins.
Heck I don't even look at basketball recruiting that confidenntly.
The best part about this thread is that a USCe created this thread to ask UK fans' opinions about Drew Barker's choice, which resulted in other USCe fans coming and acting shocked (gasp) that UK fans would predict and/or outline why Barker would choose UK.
Saw an ACC fan (probably Clemson) make a derogatory comment about UK a few weeks ago. It related to SEC road trips compared to ACC road trips. I quickly pointed out that y'all have a bigger stadium than all but 2-3 ACC schools. I think people tend to forget that. Not sure if the UL fans are fully into the ACC yet, but the CU fans around here are in panic mode over the announcement of the SEC Network.
I don't think anyone was shocked by it. I think barely a majority of our fans think he's ours. Some of the other comments and reasons given for why he would choose UK were a bit surprising.
LOL @ this thread. Got to see the ugly side of the USCe fanbase today.
Reasonably looking at it though, every prediction outside of UK homers is South Carolina.
Carolina has beat UK like a rented mule, why wouldn't we feel that way? I mean if we were talking Basketball I could understand your question but really man, our Football Program is head and shoulders better than UK.
Clearly. LOL. These USCjr fans are a little bit simple.
When Alshon Jeffery committed to USCe in 2009, USCe was 4-21 against UT all-time. Did you sit around in wonder and disbelief when he committed? Or did you feel, up to the date of his announcement, that you might be the favorite because of factors other than your win/loss record?
Seriously, USCe won the SEC East in 2010 and lost to UK in the process. I understand, UK has been pretty bad the last two years, but this garbage is just inane.
If UK is so lowly and beneath USCe, why come here and fight for justification?
Really??? I'm a gamecock fan and I can remember just last season we were losing at halftime and the who can forget the game we lost to them when we were ranked in the top ten.
I also remember losing to them in a thursday night game when we were mediocre. Yeah, we're better now but we aren't that far removed from mediocre seasons and some really bad ones, show some restraint because I can remember what it felt like to be the sec's whipping post.
Yup. I write for a Kentucky site, so I'm a homer...tomorrow I will be making my Crystal Ball prediction of Da'shawn Hand to Kentucky. It seriously does not work that way. Time will tell though.
Uk has no shot at winning the east, we do...that is the difference. I think every single Uk fan would understand him picking SC and if not then they are just being ignorant. It is what it is
I'm out. I get it, Barker won't choose Kentucky next Friday because Kentucky went 2-10 during the season in which he was a high school junior. Got it.
If we're limiting the sample size to the 2013 season, I agree with your assessment. But I'm pretty sure Barker is making his decision based on 2014-2018.
So unless you think that USCe will somehow challenge for the SEC East in perpetuity while UK has no chance of ever doing so in the next 4-5 years, I'm not sure what 2013 has to do with his decision.
I certainly would understand him picking USCe. I can't fathom why some USCe fans can't understand him picking UK, given the foundation of the current success of the USCe program.
The Jayhawks have no shot!

Thanks, JC, for the VIP post directly in the middle of a thread where the very first post specifically asks that no-one post VIP information.
Reasons to pick SCar – 1) sold on winning the SEC East, 2) a tight connection with the coaches, and maybe 3) Gamecocks have been on him the longest – although you can’t really blame UK’s new staff for that.
Reasons to pick Kentucky – 1) will put up more prolific numbers in the new offense, 2) good connections to other recruits in what looks to be a top 20 recruiting class, 3) UK has a history of putting QB’s in the NFL and SCar does not – in particular, the comparison to #1 pick Tim Couch is strong because UK is bringing back that same offense, 4) “Come be a hero” is UK’s recruiting mantra, and there is not a single player that would be a bigger hero than the local QB that is the top priority in the class, 5) local team – a long time fan and easy for friends and family to visit, not to mention significant business opportunities after football is over, and 6) connection with coaches.
Barker has been very deliberate throughout the process, and I actually think that if you put all of the pieces together, UK is the logical choice for someone so deliberate. If he chooses to be a Gamecock, I think it will be more of an emotional choice based on connections to the coaching staff.

You need to tell that to 3pt0 since he seems to think that Barker will go there if he wants to play right away. :D
