I'm curious as to who you think is the fastest player on UK's roster? I recently read an ESPN article that listed Raymond Sanders as one of the fastest in the SEC. Do you agree or have someone else in mind?
I have no idea but I would guess Quinn, Sweat, or a healthy Clemons. We need more fast guys!
Yeah, Cody Quinn runs something like a 4.34. I think Reed and Sweat are 4.4 guys. I think Cunningham is another sub 4.4 burner that I hope can earn some PT this year.
I'm not sure about the new guys, but the Cats posted 40 times last yr in the weight room......they all ran the same 40 and were timed by the same staff members. I think Clemons was the fastest....running a 4.3 something.
Simmons is supposed to be one of the fastest on the team. Hopefully that translates to usefulness in the field soon.
I thought I read today that Minter said Neloms was one of the fastest on the team.
Have heard that Simmons can fly, and Reed and Quinn are no slouches.
I heard Joker state in an interview with Matt Jones last friday that Jalen Whitlow ran the fastest 40 time this summer. He didn't state the exact time tho. Was talking about Whitlows athleticism.
My guess would be that Raymond Sanders is not in the top 20 of fastest guys on the UK team this season.
He is quick in the hole, but not sprinter fast.
Yeah I agree, I guess with the injuries some of these guys have had, it maybe hard for them to be as fast as they were in high school.
Yeah definitely not Sanders.
Neloms, Whitlow, Simmons, Clemons.
On roster before Fr reported..Clemons rans the fastest 40 time. So I can't account for guys like Sweat, Whitlow, Quinn...but as of today Clemons was our fastest kid.
If Whitlow is that fast with his height...that would be a site to behold.
Man i hope Clemons is healthy and ready to go. Kids a beast.
Neloms said just recently in his interview that he ran a 4.3 something. It was a Courier Journal interview not two weeks ago.
Seeing a lot of different answers. Has to be a good thing. UK's team speed light years ahead of where it was years ago.
As for me, I'd think Quinn, Neloms, Reed, Clemons, Simmons and Whitlow all in the mix. And for Whitlow at his size, that's very, very impressive. Reminds me of the Mays kid that was at USC.
Team speed has improved, but I don't see any Derrick Locke's. It would be nice to have a couple of those.
Yes..we don't have a guy like Locke...but Clemons isn't going to get caught from behind very often and we finally have some RBs that can run behind their pads and push thru piles...which I think puts UK in more 2nd and 7 vs. 2nd and 9, etc.. I'd take guys like Clemons, Mobley as feature backs vs. Locke's speed.
I thought Robinson was the fastest? I don't even see him mentioned.
joker said today robinson neloms these people saying robinson didnt look fast r out of there mind having zero confidence in the sec will make you look slow. wait til robinson plays this year he will be in the top three answers
yeah i read somewhere that robinson was timed at like a 4.1 which sounds just stupid fast but thats what the word is evidentally
No way. That's unheard of.
Been a Cat fan since August of '92
You're right, it's sounds incredibly stupid.
No-one ever in the history of anything has run 4.1 in the 40.
Not true, just yesterday I saw my mother in law pulling in the driveway and I covered at least 40 yards in about 4 flat getting outside to my garage from the living room. All without spilling my drink.
Now i will believe this After researching demarco runs a 4.4 forty not 4.1
Sorry, meant to post in this thread yesterday. I asked Joker who fastest guys were after practice yesterday and the two names he gave were Demarco Robinson and Martavius Neloms.
POST OF THE YEAR GOES TO: BIG SARGE!
