"Kentucky: There is a lot of talk that Derrick Ansley could end up as Mark Stoops' final hire. Ansley coached the corners at Tennessee last year. Earlier in the week, it appeared Ansley would join the Southern Miss staff, but I'm now hearing he could end up with Stoops. I have not confirmed the hire at this point."
Great pickup imho. Great coach, unproven as a recruiter, but if you look at the kids he was recruiting to UT 2014, he is not afraid to go after the big guys. Atleast four five star kids. I like the pick
Ansley was a graduate assistant under Saban at Alabama from 2010-2011, so he should have some solid connections. Little I've read said that he is a solid recruiter. In fact, he is credited with flipping Jacoby Glenn to Central Florida a couple years back.
Well we shall see. Looks like he likes to go after the best though.
If he is the last staff member, did I miss the next-to-last staff member?
My thoughts exactly....
Looks like most of his recruiting is in Georgia and Alabama.
"Pete Roussel @coachingsearch
I have learned that former Tennessee corners coach Derrick Ansley has accepted the corners job at Kentucky. "

Derrick Ansley is probably the best unproven recruiter in the country if you look at his rivals recruiting list he has a lot of 5 stars on that list but not on Tennessee roster.
Is there a list of notable recruits he has landed? Or any report on how he is on recruiting trails, and even if he doesn't land the top guy, does he keep his respective school in the mix past initial cuts and more often than not in the final cut?
So I just saw on Twitter that sources are reporting Mario Crisotbal to Miami, as the Asisstant HC, WR Coach, and RC. The same exact positions we are waiting on. So that leaves James Coley as a possibility, and who else??
best and unproven? How did you determine that? If he's unproven, then he hasn't done anything
Well he has only been allowed to recruit for a year... and the only player to ever commit to him was a 3 star DB. However when you look at who he is recruiting for 2014 and they mention Ansley as their recruiter. It is pretty impressive.
Matt? Was there a name mentioned on this thread that you believe will be the next WR coach?
Josh, curious to hear your take on the WR coaching position? Who do you see as possible candidates? TIA
Kentucky Football: If you have to ask, you wouldn't understand.
Haven't heard anyone that sounds legitimate right now. If he is truly expected to be there Monday for workouts, then he will be here this weekend to recruit. I'm sure I can get an answer from one of the guys.
Hinshaw was listed as the lead UT recruiter for Alexander, but I wonder if Ansley had any relationship with him? Anyone know?
Any ideas or leaks on WR coach? Maybe coach Scott takes on RB and WR's? And what about recruiting coordinator?
