Jim Dinwiddie apparently killed himself in his office in Leitchfield. He played in the late 60's and early 70's. He went to the NBA. Here is a link of his stats. RIP

Holy cow, that's my home town.
Keep Calm & Stoops On..
I was 6 years old his sophomore season, and that's the first season I can remember watching games and knowing the players on the team. Maybe it was because of his odd name, but when I'd play basketball in the yard at the time, he's who I would pretend to be.
Wow, what a shame.
I was in college when Dinwiddie played so I saw all his home games. We had other guards on the team (Stan Key, Kent Hollenbeck, others) that I thought were better and years later I asked Joe B why they played Dinwiddie over some of the other guards on the team?
Joe B laughed and said, "Dinwiddie was the only guard on the team that would throw the ball to Issel." Granted that was an exaggeration, but it stuck with me and taught me a valuable lesson why team players trump selfish players.
Sad news for sure.
Sad story. Hate reading about stuff like that.

Best wishes to his family.
Jim was my childhood hero. From my hometown, remember watching him in high school (I was in the 1st and 2nd grade his Jr. and Sr. year) and then
at UK. I wore # 20 in college because it was his HS jersey #. We later became friends and would play some pickup games/just shoot around after my college career was over.
Very sad news. . .
Always really gets to me when people kill themselves. When I was in 7th grade an eighth grade girl who was my girlfriends best friend at the time killed herself. Kinda traumatized me a little.
Sad news anytime a player for UK dies but at times like these all you need to say is God Bless Him.
The meanest dog in Taiwan.
Terrible. RIP Jim.

Terrible news. RIP Jim.
He was an outstanding player and a nice guy. This is a real shame.
I wonder why he did it. It's pretty rare someone of his age.
Not if they had a terminal illness.

Always remember all of the players from that time.
Had a good friend kill himself, I just don't understand but alot of emotional things effect all people differently, family and illnesses. I was told that my friend was suffering from an emotional disorder.
Another Kentucky hero that has gone from this earth

I remember him as well. Decent player. And one of ours. RIP, and condolences to his family.
Jim told me that on the day he signed with UK, his dad gave him the money he had saved to send Jim to college.
I remember he roomed with Terry Mills, while fighting hme daily for playing time.
Nice to know you Jim.
Here's a very short story. Everything has already been said here but if you want to read it here it is. There's also a comments section if you want to leave a comment. A lot of people that knew him have posted there.
Attorney and former University of Kentucky basketball player Jim Dinwiddie, 63, was found dead Tuesday morning in an apparent suicide, said Grayson County Coroner Joseph Brad Hudson.
