I quit reading the stuff on Cats Illustrated because it was ridiculous. I thought I left all that BS behind. Guess not.
You're probably right about Teague leaving no matter what. I just wish Cal would put as much effort into keeping players that could benefit by another year at UK as he does getting them to leave early. I'm really interested to see how the players on this team develop and which ones go to the NBA. At this point none of them look even remotely ready. If all these players decide they want to stay you'll see Cal do some pushing.
Ding. Ding. Ding..We have a winner.
Right now none of em are ready for the NBA. I expect at least two or three of the freshman to come back. This year reminds me so much of the '10 team. Struggles and questions at the point, inexperience, turnovers. Cal has his work cut out for him but I have faith...but we could go to the NIT this year and I would still be behind him.

That's crazy talk. A. Goodwin is the only offensive guard capable of getting points. J. Mays gets his when teams forget about him. And R. Harrow - well is there anything that needs to be said about him?
A simple question: is your butt jealous of the amount crap coming from your mouth?
I suppose it's too much to ask that people think critically instead of blind allegiance and shouting down opposite viewpoints because they don't fit in with what they want to believe.

Harrow could be the saving grace of this team. Mark that down. If they are gonna make a run it'll be Harrow as our PG. It's the only way.
If Harrow takes that role on effectively, and we improve at the free throw line, we are a final four threat by years end...
I agree with this but I have serious doubts about Harrow at this point. Is prior history an indicator of future success?
Harrow's not a true freshman. He played a year at N.C. State under tremendous pressure and expectations. He practiced for a whole year against a National Championship team. The point guard job was handed to him here and he's obviously struggled.
Haha. Making sweeping generalizations about this team, one way or another, after 7 games is hilarious to me. Can't you see how short-sighted that is?
In a normal year I would disagree with that. This is a pretty weak NCAA field though. They would have to improve by leaps and bounds. The entire climate would have to change. Poythress will have to become the man. Mashburn-like man. As horrible as the FT shooting is and how important it will be it's really the least of their worries right now. Heart and an identity are their biggest problems right now.
So let me get this straight ... you know for a fact that Goodwin can't play point guard because of what you've seen after seven games yet you've barely seen Harrow at all and know for a fact that the only way this team can make a run is if he's the PG?
Okay. Haha. Makes a lot of sense
Yeah. And prognosticating is part of fandom. Don't you understand that?
No. We'll leave it up and let these guys embarrass themselves.
Looks like somebody got butt hurt. Goodwin can't play PG. At least not a selfless one that gets his teammates shots. Could he change and become a better PG? Yeah. But I haven't seen any indication of it yet. My Harrow comment is based on Goodwin and Polson. What I've seen of Harrow at PG is vastly superior to either Goodwin or Polson.
I do but you stated that matter of factly.
"It's the only way."
It is the only way as I see it. You don't have to agree but you don't have to be a dick about it either.
Goodwin: 11 shots, 5 assists in 37 minutes
Harrow: 9 shots, 2 assists in 18 minutes
Yeah and I don't care. I know what I see and I see Goodwin looking like an out of control rec player that doesn't hustle. You also left out something important. Goodwin turnovers 5. Harrow turnovers 0. If you think Goodwin at PG is the answer that's fine. I think you're wrong but I'm not all upset about it. I don't understand why you're so upset because I have an opinion that seems obvious to me. Being that Goodwin is a SG, not a PG.
Wow. Tough crowd. Arent you guys national champs?
Yeah. Last year. Right now we're 4-3 with back to back losses. What gets me is that people are mad that some are barking about it. What if Alabama started out 4-3 in football? I know different sports and that doesn't exactly equate but still, it's similar.
This is one of the dumbest threads in the history of this site. If I had a vote, I'd ban MoC and Carl (who needed a lifetime ban ages ago) for the rest of eternity.
Once I bought a puppy. That puppy was adorable. He bit my mother. I bought the dog. Therefore I bit my mother.
There's the logic of this thread. Cal recruited young kids. They went out and played poor today. Therefore Cal lost the game. Sure, he makes mistakes like every other guy in the nation, but he more than earns his paycheck. Give me Cal on my sideline over any other coach in the nation. We, as a fanbase, need to grow a pair and stop rolling over when things get rocky. We win a national title with all this youth and everyone goes OMG CAL IS A GENIUS! ONE AND DONES RULE!. We lose a couple of games in a row and people are going STOP DRINKING THE KOOL AID. FARRR CAL! HE'S KILLING THE PROGRAM WITH ALL THIS YOUTH!
Next season, when we win the national title with this upcoming recruiting class on campus, people will again climb back on the train. I wish we didn't have room for guys like MoC and Carl though. The real fans buckle up and ride it out when things get a bit bumpy because we know our driver will get us where we need to go on time. Others jump off and wait to be picked up at the next convenient stop. Always good to see who is who.
Welcome the new generation of domination.
Clearly you don't care because your argument isn't based on fact. It's just based on your opinion.
And on top of all that, besides all the facts that I've already destroyed your argument with, your PG argument is already flawed.
I agree with you that this team is at its best when Goodwin is off the ball and Harrow is running the point. But until Harrow proves he's ready to go full time and has his head on straight, Goodwin is UK's next best option.
Cal is just playing the hand he's been dealt. I'm sure he didn't picture Goodwin as his PG when he was recruiting him.
Of course my argument is based on opinion. As is yours. Again, you didn't destroy anything. You're cherrypicking stats. Like disregarding the 5 turnovers Goodwin had. You're just basing your opinion on how you think Goodwin will progress. You certainly aren't basing it on how he's playing. If so you're blind. Of course Cal is just playing the hand he was dealt. It's a tough hand. Harrow definitely didn't do him any favors with his phantom "illness". I'm sure Cal pictured Goodwin as a backup PG and possible starter if Harrow didn't work out. Like Knight. Only Knight was a lot more patient and smarter than Goodwin. Even at the beginning.
Sick to hear this kind of crap OP posted. No matter how good a coach knows about X's and O's, kids needs to mature along the road. Without too much game experiences, there is no magical transformation for these players to play like a championship caliber team 1 month after they start to play college games.
