I never said anything remotely like what you are accusing me of saying.
What gets me is fans like you, Carl, that contribute to the notion that "UK fans have unrealistic expectations."
Danville (23) / Atlanta (16) / Westport, CT (1) / @tbradg
Goodwin has less shot attempts and fewer turnovers than Knight at same point in his freshman year.
Being better than 4-3 is an unrealistic expectation? Since when? Maybe you should switch teams or something because 4-3 is gonna cause a ruckus at UK. That's just how it is. It's "unrealistic" fans that put the pressure on Mitch to build a winner that got Cal here in the first place. Since when is 4-3 ok!!!? Jesus. Since when do you get shit for not being satisfied with 4-3!!?
Teague struggled a lot last as well but it didn't show near as much because MKG, Davis, miller, jones and lamb could pick up the slack with ease. We don't have that luxury this year and some you of need to get your head out of the gutter. I respect cal for not allowing harrow to just come back with the position on a silver platter...I hope he took offense to being 3rd string behind polson (no disrespect to polson as all btw). I feel like harrow will get into rhythm with these next 5 cupcake games and extra practices. In my opinion, we'll see a completely different team once SEC play starts
#BBN #WeAreUK #BoyleCountyAlum
But that's skewed. Knight played every game as the PG. Goodwin hasn't.
Goodwin has been the starting point guard for every game except Maryland. And even in that game Harrow/Polson only saw spot minutes.
Now that's a good point. The talent of Davis, MKG and the experience of TJ and Lamb definitely helped Teague. And Teague did start off awful but I always stayed hopeful with him. Not with Goodwin. And I could be wrong. I hope I am. Another thing with Goodwin is that his screw ups are just plain ugly which might be one of the reasons I'm so down on him as a PG. Sometimes it just flat out embarrassing.
Everybody needs to relax. It's the end of Novemeber. This team doesn't have a Patterson, Miller, Liggins, Jones, Lamb to help Cal teach the new guys.
I expected to win these last two games, but I'm not surprised that they lost. From what i could watch while at work it appeared to me that the guys just missed shots. Now that I'm off I'll watch it. You're not going to win very many games shooting 29% from the floor and 18% beyond the arch. If they made a few more this thread doesn't exist.
Everybody forget the kool-aid, take a chill pill or sip your bourbon and enjoy the ride. Nobody ever said this ride wouldn't some speed bumps.
How do the TO's look in that span? That might help your argument but I don't care lol I'm just curious. In any case Knight hustled and played defense. Knight was more patient and in control. Do you think Goodwin could end up being as good a PG as Knight ended up being?
Yeah 21-71 from the field and 9-18 from FT won't beat many teams at all...it all comes back to execution
Im sorry but you are mistaken. No matter the age or the sport or profession effort is something that all people on this planet can give, its just a question will they choose to. Im 56 years old and never played organized b-ball but I could go on the court and put effort towards winning a game. I know that effort wouldnt be enough to win that game but it would be as much as I could possibly put forth. Being young and inexperienced is an excuse and I truly believe if the players would go out and put everything they had into winning the game and still lost then most fans would accept that , not like the loss but accept it and appreciate that effort. I guess I should say that the lack of effort was not as bad as the ND game and the guys did miss a lot of wide open shots but this isnt a "TEAM" on the court yet and if they become a team they will improve a great deal.

Dear god. And people wonder why the national media ridicules our fanbase? Dingbats like this.
My two and half year-old boy is still in diapers...not potty trained...that doesn't mean he's not going to be able to take a poop in a toilet at Kindergarten, now does it? Should I be upset with him or should I try to understand that he's right where a two year old should be in his development?
No one is "satisfied" with losing 3 games, but most rational UK fans know that the early season this year is going to be unlike any other under Cal. The losses that matter most, Carl, are tournament losses and with this particular team we may not be playing our best until tournament time...the sooner you come to grips with that your blood pressure should return to normal.
We have some of the greatest fans but we also have a small very stupid segment .
I may or may not be wrong about the effort issue but I do know that coming on this site and calling anyone stupid is a very telling aspect into what kind of person does that.
lol I do understand that and been preaching the same thing until today. As I've said a few times already this team could get it together and put together a run in March. But after today I've lost a lot of faith of that happening. I'm not writing them off. I'm just saying this team has more work to do to get there than any other Cal coached team at UK. We're missing a lot more this year than years past and it's showing.
There's a thread about ND storming the court. It's on the front page here. I posted in it a day or 2 ago saying "Let them have their fun. We'll have ours in March." This team can get there but it needs an entire do-over. If Cal gets this team to the final 4 it'll be his best coaching job period and one of the best I would have ever seen.

You're right about the effort issue. I played everything when I was a kid. I didn't have to be taught to play hard. I just did it because that's what you do. If you want to win you play as hard as you can. It's just common sense. These guys are elite players though and probably haven't had to really play hard in forever.
I wonder what the record for most down votes on a thread is lol?
I think you might be looking at it. I don't recall more than 10.
Ha, somebody had to go and up vote it
I didn't up or down vote it. A lot of hyperbole in this thread from all sides.
