If i have missed something i apologize... is he no longer an option?
Nothing has came out yet. Patience, good sir.
Keep Calm & Stoops On..
Job openings at a state university have to be "posted" for a certain length of time before someone can be "officially" hired. Since Stoops and his Coordinators are kind of "redefining" some positions (job title, responsibilities, pay, etc.) they can't be "posted" until all that info is included. They are going after guys, discussing how/where they would fit, deciding on the pay package, and then giving the Human Resources Department the agreed on info to "post". Others can apply but they already have "their man" so be patient and watch this team of coaches be assembled asap.
This is exactly correct. Good answer. At least I hope you are correct about the results we all hope to see.
From twitter earlier today;
@RecruitKentucky The only hires we know for sure are Eliot and Brown. What other coaches have been hired?
@JCBritton1 HC: Mark Stoops OC: Neal Brown DC: DJ Eliot Safetys: Bradley Dale Peveto WR: Darin Hinshaw OL: John Schlarman RB: Chad Scott
@JCBritton1 Yes, all are confirmed, but Vince Marrow, as he is just likely right now.
There were originally nine job openings posted for assistant coach. All were posted November 27th. The minimum time has passed.
Two were filled (Eliot and Brown) and the other seven had their deadlines pushed back.
Three of those remaining seven's deadlines expired last night and were not extended. They have been taken down.
One coach (out of the three closed assistant coach openings) has been named: Schlarman
That leaves two more closed openings awaiting announcement.
Four more are still open. Their deadlines to apply are each different: 11th, 12th, 13th, and the 14th. All this week.
Note that all these were posted on November 27th, meaning the minimum time has passed.
Source close to Tennessee said today that the longer the Vols go without hiring a WR coach the more possibility there is Hinshaw could ultimately stay there. Working on getting more info, but sounds like it's not a lock he's headed to Kentucky.
Of course UT sources are going to say that, because most don't want to lose him now.. The thing is, 99.9% of the people at UT thought Tee Martin was a done deal.. They thought all it would take was a phone call and he'd be all over it.. Therefore, these same UT folks had no problem throwing Hinshaw under the bus, so to speak.. Now that Tee's a no go, Hinshaw suddenly looks a little better to them.. If Hinshaw can't see right through what's happening, then I don't think he's too smart and I'm not too sure I'd want him.. However, I do think he sees right through the BS and knows he's strickly a backup plan for UT and would be gone at the 1st sign of a bigger name candidate, therefore, I think he definately takes the UK offer and
goes to a place that wants him to be there..
Some of that may very well be the case. I can tell you though that my source isn't a UT fan and has no dog in the fight of whether the guy stays or not.

Either way, with all due respect, your source is likely getting info from "UT". So the UT spin is on this info. Unless somehow somebody has direct access to Hinshaw. That doesn't mean that the info isn't true though.
Either way, thanks for the scoop and info..
From all I can find out, Hinshaw would add the final touches to this already unbelievable staff. Seems like he's a terrific recruiter and darn good coach! I really hope he comes on board!!!
The WR coach from Wisconsin is being considered for the UT receivers position, Zach Azzanni as per footballrumormill.com
I would say that Hinshaw will be here. According to coachingsearch.com the WR position at Tennessee is open and they are trying to find someone to fill it. They tried to get Tee Martin from USC, they offered it to Zach Azzanni from Wisconsin and now it may appear that they may go after Arizona's WR Coach Tony Dews
Would it be so bad to keep Pat Washington? He seemed to do a good job.
I think Washington did a good job, but I don't really have much info on his ability to recruit. If he is a good recuiter then I wouldn't have a problem with him returning, but if he isn't then I would like us to look elsewhere.
I understand that but apparently this staff is now loaded with recruiters so...maybe we wld b ok. Was just a curiosity question more or less
You know what's better than having a staff with eight recruiters?
Having a staff with nine! Bring on Hinshaw!

Matt, on the vol board, they keep talking how Jones has to replace their WR coach, so do you think he had another offer that we are not hearing about?
Truer words have never been spoken!
I'll do some digging today.
Or maybe they've offered him a promotion like recruiting coordinator or something else along those lines..
