They thumped Mizzou earlier this season.

Here is the real dilema, who do you root for in the MW region final; UL or Duke???????????
I understand. But mizzou had major injury issues then.
That team would have been beaten by Kansas.
That would be my choice as well. IIRC, MichSt beat the dirty birds the last time they were the #1 overall seed.
Your recollection is correct.
Would have been a toss up.
And the Cardinals beat MSU last year in the Tourney. Sparty and Izzo wiill be ready for payback.
MSU might have their toughest team ever this year as well. I mean they are pit bull that hasn't been fed for weeks and beat everyday with a spiked 2 x 4 tough. They are just the team to beat UofL because they will handle UofL's pressure. They won't allow UofL to take the ball from them and they'll welcome the slapping hacking style of play.
Louisville has an easy drawn to the EE though.
Can't disagree with that. I do think they have a tough time getting out of that bracket. MSU is the quintessential Izzo team and Duke always has a favorable whistle come tourney time. Either team will be incredibly tough for the Cards to get by.
As much as I hate UL I don't think the committee did them any favors with that bracket. As a matter of fact, they screwed them being the #1 overall seed. Mizzou will be tough if the play them as will Okie St. I think they beat both, but they will have to bank on Siva and Smith playing a flawless four games to make the FF. I don't think they have anyone else they can lean on to get them there. Get to the FF and it's a crap shoot unless your the clear cut favorite, in that they're not.
With that said, I hate UL (mainly bc of their fans) but I would prefer them in the FF than Duke. I just don't think you can rely on their inconsistent and eradict guard play to win six games against the quality of play they'll face.
My pick is whoever comes out of Kansas and Florida's bracket. The one that comes out between those two will win it. Forget Georgetown in that one.
I highly doubt it UF. But I think they are better than they've shown of late.

Louisville's guards never have to play flawless. Thats not how they win ever. Thats the complete opposite of how they win. They muddy the game up and their guards make just enough shots to win. They don't have to play 1 flawless game.
Mizzou doesn't have enough ball handlers.

I know what UL does. I should have made it more clear I meant Siva and Smith. As for UF we will see. Pomeroy has them tabbed as the top team heading into the tourney.
Now back to your point on UL, that is precisely why they won't win. They'll face MSU or Duke and fall victim to their own style of play. Fouling as much as possible won't get you to the championship anymore. Pitino has failed to figure that out.
Well, I saw you said guards. After seeing that I'll just say I disagree there. You and I both know they can't win it all without them playing six games on the offensive end without playing flawless, because on the defensive end they'll get called for the 5 million fouls they commit. So with that point made they'll have to play flawless on both ends to make it through six games.
But it would have gotten them to the championship game last year had they not ran into us.
That doesn't even make sense. Flawless? What? They'll turn you over and make just enough shots to win, Just like they did last year. Except this team is better.
That may be true, but I still don't think they would have beat Kansas. KU had a shot at beating us. Watch that UL FF game last year and there is not doubt who would win that game. No team matched UK except UNC and they didn't make it. The same can't be said about one team this year much less two.
I don't disagree that UL can win it this year, but I don't see the guard play on their team getting them through six games. Feel free to make me eat crow, but I just don't see it.
How does that not make sense? They hack and foul all game long and both guards and incredibly inconsistent. How does that not make sense?
I won't be making anyone eat crow. Matter of fact I'm done arguing about it. Now comes rooting for them to lose and hoping they lose.
What do you mean by flawless for one?
Not agruing about it because I know we hope to see the same, but I am interested in seeing how my point doesn't make sense.
I do think the Cards have it in them to win it all, but I really think that their guard play will do them in. I just can't put my trust in Siva who has notoriously cost them close games throughout his career. Nor can I put my trust in Smith who can go 10-15 or 2-15 any given night. The tourney is just a crap shoot with that type of guard play IMO.
Again, not here to argue with you, but here to talk basketball. You see one thing and I see another.
