when he said Louisville may be the best team in the country. Siva and Smith are tremendous guards and Blackshear is a great shooter. Deing, Behanan and Harrell are big, physical bodies down low and all can score and defend and they have pretty solid depth, being able to go 8-9 deep with not much dropoff and they're a great f/t shooting team.. I thought UK played them tough and by years end, we may be gelling enough to beat them, but, they're the best team I've seen so far this year.. Wouldn't be surprised at all to see them win it all this year..
I They have the 2 best pair of guards in the countrybelieve that UL is a top 5 team but not the best in the country IMO. The best team again IMO is Michigan or Gonzaga b/c they have the 2 best pair of guards in the country and have depth even deeper than UL does. I have watched both of those teams play on more than a couple of ocassions and am envious of the the starting guards they have.
I think dook is better, I thought ul got out of sorts when we made our last run and if Noel isn't called for walking after getting mugged by the ul players, this game might have been very interesting going down the stretch. And Cal is just making coach talk, it helps his kids feel better but in the end as bad as we played, and how many free throws we missed we still almost won this game even playing ul at their place, so my point is no, I don't think ul is that good.
Pretty much agree with this. Plus Poythress pulled a disappearing act today and found his butt on the bench.
You hit it on the head Nate, Alex can either play the way CAL wants or sit, him missing 4 out of 6 free throws is worse then our bigs. Plus I worry about his basketball IQ, his passing and unconfident dribbling makes him look so unsure of himself on the floor. Its like he has lost all confidence sometimes.
That walk he had on the fast break was horrible. I was thinking go and he slightly pulled up to pass then dribbled. In no way am I comparing him to MKG, but the Kidd would have grabbed that and flown down the court. He has bigger problems than that I'm afraid, but maybe making a highlight tape of MKG on fast breaks should be shown to him.
The cats played with heart today and truth is we should have won the game. Now I'm not saying the reason we lost was because of the refs but it was like the u of l big man could have done anything and they were not going to call his fifth foul. But we lost this game at the line plain and simple. Turnovers didn't help either but WCS found his heart along with a few others and all we need now is for Alex to find his and come out and play ball. When he does this team will be scary good, Ryan is playing great and even though we lost we won.
I dont know guys Lville's half court offense was horrrrrrid. They scored what 50 pts on turn over baskets and such.
If UK makes the ft's its a diff winner period.
Alex is not the player he can be. He reminds me of Rodrick Rodes...
He lacks so much hustle. He will not be a 1st rd pick if he playes like this and that is for sure.
I think the 4 best teams are IU, UL, Fla, and Duke. It is difficult to distinquish much between them any better today than a month ago, except those 4 have risen above the pack.
I would add Kansas to that statement to round out a top 5. Then the pack falls away a little to a second group consisting of Pittsburgh, Ohio St. and Michigan
I believe Kentucky remains in the next group of teams, those that are fighting to move up toward a 2 seed, but really struggling with each other for the 3 and 4 seed positions right now.
I have Syracuse, Minnesota, Arizona, Kentucky, Gonzaga, Virginia Commonwealth, and Creighton in this third tier of teams.
Everyone else will be fighting to play in the second weekend of the Big Dance.
i dont see Fla as one of the 4 best in the country right now...Lets see what the end of the year brings..There are other good teams out there...College basketball is way down this year
and as long as the one and done rule stays it will not produce the level of good teams that we were seeing in the 90's..
