DeAngelo Yancey is a wide receiver at Benjamin Elijah Mays High School in Atlanta, GA. He is one of the top rising seniors in the state. He had 28 catches last year for close to 600 yards.
Meeeee too! He and Fant are visiting this coming weekend!
"Kentucky Football needs to be and will be a championship contender in the SEC."~Mitch Barnhart 11/4/12
Well we are now the leader according to this article by the Florida 247 group. Now we just have to hope we hold off the Gators if they offer.

ugh they better not
Gotta LOVE the fact that UK is the leader and he hasn't even visited yet. Let's hope he has a tight hamstring when he lines up to run the 40 in Gainsville. We NEED this kid, and probably 1 more just like him.
Nice i hoping that would catch on to see how high the # would get

It smells like microwaved homeless people in here.
I hope he gets his UF offer, it will make it that much more special when he commits to UK
DeAngelo, we want you and we need you. Don't take a chance somewhere else , come here for a sure thing. We need playmakers like you and Fant
Ordinary if you have twitter tell him there. He has been paying attention.
I thought Yancey was visiting this past weekend after Ole Miss and was deciding this week. Did I miss something?
Bump it a weekend and you are on track...
SWEET! I really like what he has to say in that article. Is UF recruiting his buddy, Fant? If so, it has to be at DB. They told Yancey they gave one more spot for a WR in this class. With us offering them both, them wanting to play together in college and them visiting this weekend, you gave to like our chances....especially with him now acknowledging the fact that Ole Miss already has 6 other WR's in this class.
I dont believe they are MJ, we discussed some of it on TOS.
I took Barton Simmons' article a few days ago when he said Yancey was at Ole Miss camp Friday and would be going to UK on Saturday to mean he was going straight from Ole Miss to UK this past weekend, not with a week in-between. After reading the interview on the UF site, I see I was wrong.
Yancey looks to be a stud. If getting him only helps our chances with Fant, you can't beat that. If UK adds Yancey and Fant, to join with Thomas, it makes Timmons a luxury rather than a need. Also, if UK can add those two playmakers, it is the best offensive class in back to back seasons I can remember. From QB, RB, WR and OLine the '12 and '13 offensive classes combined sets them apart from their peers imo. There is still a good chance UK adds 1 maybe even 2 more o-lineman and Timmons or another playmaker.
Man I want Fant badddd. #148 in the Espn top 150! This would be one sweet package deal if they indeed decide to do that. get em Joker!
LoL..me too...I was saying I wanted Yancey like 3 months ago guys...browse back a few pages and look for my recruiting wishlists...Kids a true possession, go-to guy with velcro mitts and long arms. Dont let his 40 time fool you...this kid has more than enough speed and way more than enough acceleration(more imortant in football.) to play SEC wideout. I'll take his best pal Rashard Fant...a 5'10 165lb athlete with blazing speed, can play cb or wr/rb and has offer from Fla State..lets hope the Seminoles dont offer Yancey too...As it sits...Its basically us and Ole Miss.
Yancey is the type of WR you have to have to be successful in the SEC..Tall, rangy, strong...can use his upperbody strength and long arms to gain separation from DB's and his acceleration to get space...uses his body to fend off smaller corners and loks to be a very good blocker(a must in SEC play). I'll take 3 just like him every year!!
Yancey isnt a burner...hes a low 4.5 high 4.4 kid. His thing is acceleration and of course his nice size...will be 6'3 200 or bigger by the time he leaves high school. Yancey is tough..makes catches in traffic well and can take a hit and hold on. He has possession reciever hands(I like to say velcro mitts!) and boy..he has some huge hands..long arms...should be able to gain separation rather easily. Hes not a 4.3 or 4.42 kid..but I'll take 3 just like him every year and be happy, If you want a comparison..think of Yancey as a Stevie Johnson type...4 years form now..Yancey will be 6'3 or 6'4..215/220 and be a high 4.4 low 4.5 40 guy. Kids 6'2 195 right now and his listed 40 is 4.58..Ive heard of 4.52, 4.54, even one 4.47 times from camps. Vertical leaps in the 37" range..very good for his size.
The best thing about Yancey? He just flat out catches the ball. Surehanded is an understatement.
Yancey and Fant both look like they would be very good additions. One bigger well suited for the outside, and one shifty guy who can line up in the slot and make plays in space.
