I think someone needs to ask the question. Matt, do you think Joker needs another year and if so, how did you come to that conclusion?
Everyone that follows UK football knows the record, knows the injuries, knows who has been recruited, and has followed Joker for the last 8-9 years under Brooks and now as head coach. Everyone also knows he played at UK and is a Kentucky alumni just like many of us on here. Everyone also knows what he makes a year.
So again, do you think Joker should be given another year and if so, why? Make the case one way or the other.
The meanest dog in Taiwan.
I scanned the paragraph for any reference to Phillips, the coaching staff, potential changes, or the administration. I looked for excuses, propaganda, or suggestions. Even after several re-reads, still can't find a thing.
I see it didn't stop Dice from demanding May post whether or not he believes Phillips should be brought back. Or DA from suggesting Towles took a sack because the QB coach didn't tell him not to. Or Cat from frothing about excuses.
It's just a post about our injured quarterbacks. Stop smashing your keyboards with your foreheads for a moment and try to get enough perspective to realize every single word said anywhere concerning UK football isn't some plot to sway public opinion. Go back to the rest of the mouth-breathers at CI. There's no pesky posts about the actual football team there to get in your way.
I come on here everyday looking forward to reading something positive, new, or exciting to read. Other than the info from the staff, I walk away feeling more depressed by the posters than I do by the football team. In re the injuries, damn we are snake bit!
Interestingly, I was talking to Matt Smith after practice today and he said there have been so many injuries the trainers had to come get a walking boot he kept in his locker as a precaution because they needed extras for all the ankle/foot injuries they have right now. Not all of the injuries are severe and a lot of times they put a ton of guys in them throughout the week after practice to protect tender ankles/feet, but that kind of tells you just how many of those guys are walking wounded right now.
I want someone to just bring up on the basketball threads that some other coach might, just might get a recruit that Cal was going after and then you will see people get their pitchforks and torches out to go after that person, and I know I was one who suggested that might happen, so I can understand why you feel the way you do about football related threads.
If I could give you 10 points for this post I would. I feel the same feeling. It's sickening. The losing situation is bad enough without being beat over the head with it too. Kudos to your post.
Hey Matt, is there anyway by the records you have, that you can go back and list every injury that has caused players to miss playing time this season and how many games missed? I think it would be interesting (although maybe depressing as well) to see the amount of missed time due to injuries this year. If it's alot of work, don't bother, just didn't know what info. you have available to you. Thanks for the consideration of the request.
I think having to play 14 true frosh kind of says it all!
Yep. Once you coach a player on something, he will never make that mistake in a game...... .......... Or could it still happen? No. No way, if it would have been coached better, or he was a junior, no possible way something like that ever happens...
I'll see if I can put something together. Heck, I'm not sure I can even remember all the guys who have been injured.
Thanks. Me either. I think once listed with games lost, it will be eye opening, because over time, one tends to forget.
I agree, just thought seeing a complete list would be interesting.
