Don't normally get as into stuff of rumors for other teams but have heard some rumors that Alabama is likely to land both Cat Barber and Troy Williams now. Troy has started talking them up in the last couple of weeks and Barber is down to Bama and Kansas. I'll go ahead and say if Grant pulls that off Barber would be one of the bigger coups the SEC West has had in a while.
SEC needs to bring in some good ones this year.
Barber and Williams talking about going to the same school. Bama and Louisville the only common schools on their list.
I could see that happening. I know Cat likes Bama a lot, and for some reason, Troy kind of strikes me as a traditional Tide-type player. They've had a lot of wings like him over the years, and Grant did a good job with developing wings when he was at Florida.
It's weird that he was a lock for either UK or UNC not too long ago.

Grant's recruiting prowess is the reason Florida won back-to-back NCAA championships, and he's a pretty decent coach as well. Look for 'Bama to keep getting better on his watch.
While at Florida, individually, the parts were above average, but collectively they fit together well enough to win 2 titles.

Grant already has top bigman Jimmy Taylor in the fold too.
I'd love to see Alabama rise up and own the SEC West. The SEC has gotta start getting more teams in the tourney from the West.
I thought the West was dead in basketball?
No more East or West. Just "natural" rivals (Florida in our case).

No question in my mind that Williams would still go to UK or UNC if he had his druthers but it looks as though both have backed off for the time being.
I'm a unc fan, and anyone who would pick bama over UK. or UNC is an idiot., that is all...
Again, Williams may not even have that option at this point.
Which seems sort of silly, considering he could have had either if he would have made his choice when he was supposed to. Well, things work out the way they do for a reason. I no longer question anything about recruiting any more.
Either could have had him a few weeks ago and held him off. I'm not sure he really had an opportunity to commit to the Cats or the Heels/
I don't either. Or it could have been that he just wasn't feeling the love at all and wanted to feel like he was a main option for both UK and UNC. In reality he just isn't. I'd like to see him end up at Bama.
Almost positive he tried to commit to UK and Cal told him to pump the brakes. Almost positive.
Bama is definitely on the upswing in bball. They just signed 5* Devonta Pollard in 2012 and they already have Shannon Hale (4* PF) and Jimmie Taylor (4* C) on board in this class; not to mention Trevor Lacey returning from last year. Living down here, I hate it b/c instead of embracing UK bball and our coach as a similar program/coach to what they have in football, they consistently rag on Cal.
