read on another site about his retirement announcement today from football due to difficulties recovering from his ACL injury.
just want to say congrats on a great career and best of luck with what he does next in his life. i have no doubts he will be successful. it really takes a lot of courage to walk away from that money now in hopes of having a higher quality of life (physically) later.
also wanted to say thanks to him for representing UK with class and dignity while here. he is one of the great ones.
and F the NCAA for what they did to a fine young man. see Hope Solo for how Jarmon's case should have been handled.
One of the best and brightest to ever play for UK. Sorry to hear the news of his retirement, but glad he's doing it on his terms with an eye on a healthy future.
And, yes, still miffed at the NCAA over what they did to him.

The Jeremy Jarmon presser was one of the most heartbreaking things I've covered.
Let's get him back and involved in the programs somehow. He is one of the greats.
He said he wants to move on to things other than playing football. Does anyone know if he has ever expressed a desire to get into coaching football after his career? It would be fantastic to have him re-join the program in a role similar to Woodson, only to work with the D-linemen.
One of the saddest I've ever watched, too. I agree with usa and mj.. get him back in the program!!
Keep Calm & Stoops On..
There are many words that come to mind about that situation and the NCAA, but miffed wasn't one of them.
Hate it for JJ.
And yes I'm also still extremely pissed about the NCAA decision. That guy would have been a beast his last year.
Pissed is a better description than miffed.
He would be an awesome GA. If Tommy Cook leaves, would he be able to take his place?
agree with what others have said about getting him involved with the program in some capacity. same deal with Wes when his playing days are over.
For some reason I remember him saying he wanted to get into politics.
And the decision of the NCAA in his case was ridiculous. And I think the Cats would have won 10 games with him on that 2009 team. He was a beast.
Believe so. Wouldn't hurt having a former NFL player on staff.
Per Twitter, Tommy's now the DFO at Kent State.
Hey Drum, check your PM...i know your terrible at that. Lol
It's not my terrible, man. It's your terrible.
What did Jarmon say on the radio today? I refuse to listen to the podcast because of the show's host.
That's the problem with the Internet......NO PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY!!!!!
- "I'm not the problem.......You're the PROBLEM!!!!".
- "I'm normal...Just like everyone that is UNIQUE like ME!!!!"
.....Just kidding folks.....But, like my G'ma said, " No single raindrop thinks they are responsible for the flood...."
I don't even know what that means....lol
