I have a feeling this isn't going to work, but here goes.
It's apparent that Joker's time as UK's head coach is coming to an end. It's also obvious that it didn't work. Joker is a UK guy, and it breaks my heart it didn't work. I hold no malice against the man for that. I hold no ill will toward Mitch for it. We all hoped it would work as we felt a successful Joker wasn't going to bail. I long to see Joker be successful. I pray that he is.
Joker, I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors. I hope someday you are able to be vindicated. Thank you for giving your all for our program. Sometimes things just don't work.
Thanks for the good laugh. I cracked up when I saw the subject of this post. I needed a good laugh after watching the worst coached UK football game since apparently 1916.
Classy post, OP. Everybody knows Joker is gone so there's no need to continue piling on. Joker helped provide us with some of our best days since Bear Bryant. He'll always be a wildcat.
Yeah, I meant to add that if you can't say something nice about the man, just move along. There's plenty of other threads you can do that in.
I agree with your post. We all wanted Joker to succeed and have a great career here. Nothing would be better than for one of UKs own to further the progression that was made under Brooks. Should his career at UK end i also wish him nothing but success in whatever he chooses to do!
1 more year......
Thanks for beating UT! And I mean that... I hope Joker moves on to bigger and better things in life.
I appreciate Joker being a UK guy, and trying his best. I wish he'd never been put in the position in the first place, but he was and he failed miserably. Now I would appreciate it if he would do what's best for his alma mater and move along. I would like to see him return to UK, possibly as an administrator one day in the distant future, but we need a clean break right now.
UNTILL UK PUTS MILLIONS INTO THE FOOTBALL PROGRAM IT WILL BE IN THE BOTTOM OF THE SEC PERIOD. LOVED JOKER AND I THINK HE SHOULKD ALWAYS BE A PART OF THE PROGRAM IN SOME TYPE OF WAY. BUT A HEAD COACHING JOB Was way above him right now.
I was all for the succession from Brooks to Joker. I like Joker. But this did not work in the least, for whatever reason. Joker bleeds blue, and it just makes it all hurt a little more when it is one of our own going down. I hope he finds success, but the time is now to make the change at UK.
UK FB has been in demise since Bear left, the question is will Joker be this year's sacrificial lamb. He cares more about this program than anyone who wants his head. He has taken all the cruel, insensitive, hateful, and threatening criticism from largely uninformed people who probably never even attended UK, and has accepted it graciously and in stride. All the while he has tried to shelter his young and impressionable kids from all the distractions and tried to keep them focused on playing football. It has not worked for Joker and would not work for anyone else. Joker has not made excuses and has not blamed anyone. One thing I can say...Joker cut his teeth as a first time head coach at one of the worst college head coaching jobs in the country. His handling of this entire situation and all of its complications will not go unnoticed by the people in the know. Joker, if he goes, will be a winner in this whole fiasco.
I almost shed a tear reading this, I appreciate your outlook on the situation, and I think it sums things up nicely. I wanted to say thanks before somebody comes in and destroys this post or thread!
I don't know one person who was ever rooting against Joker to succeed. He was popular as a player, assistant coach, and coordinator.
As far as appreciation, I can't say I appreciated the way he took a program that was on steady ground to its knees. No, he has not made a lot of excuses to the public and that is admirable.
He knew he was way over his head and needed help, but was too stubborn to ask the right people for the help. He and Mitch burned the bridge with Rich Brooks and that was one of Joker's biggest downfalls. Rich could have "coached" him through many of his mistakes.
If I give the keys of my car to my son and he wrecks it, I am not going to tell him how much I appreciate him.
No. But when the whole world comes at your son and tells him how terrible he is and how he has no business near a car, you do embrace him and tell him even though that didn't work, he's still your son and you still love him.
It didn't work.

If you can't have feelings for a guy who loves and played his heart out for UK,hen you have serious internal problems. It may be the inevitable, but it still makes me feel somewhat sick inside. The guy really had good intentions, and I want everyone that plays for the Big Blue to have happy successful lives. Joker certainly has not been happy about how things have gone down. I wish him all the best...................................as far as Bozich goes, if there is a depth lower than hell i am sure he will succeed in landing there after he sucks in in his last breath. MR.IU loathes UK every bit as much as Bitterbobknight.
Some people have class then there is you.
Thank you Joker. I really appreciate what you tried to accomplish here. I woud wish you the best and would like to see you succeed as an OC or HC somewhere. Thanks for beating UT!
Joker is a class act... and he deserves better than what he had here. I think today's announcement will prove to be a blessing in disguise for Joker... and he WILL fine success doing what he loves to do (Coach). I'm sure he'll be much better off... and much happier too. There's no doubt in my mind. I wish him all the best.
Thanks Joker... and Good Luck!
Thank you, Joker. For your time and blood/sweat/tears for this university. You're an outstanding person, and a class act. I wish you luck in your future endeavors. Good luck.
Keep Calm & Stoops On..
Joker bled blue. He loved this FB team as much and probably more than any one of us. He wanted nothing but success. He gave endless hours of time and effort to make this a winning program. There are a lot of reason, bad decisions and circumstances that contributed to this happening, but NEVER once did I ever hear Joker blame anyone but himself. He has manned up, and always took the responsibility for it. Probably more so than he should of to protect and shelter his players and coaching staff. With all that said, I wish Joker nothing but the very best as he moves on. It didn't work, but he gave it a heck of an effort. The failure was not due to effort.
Thanks Joker for all of the time, effort and commitment you have put into UK. Rarely does a person have so many years invested into a program. We know you care deeply for the University and it's football program. Thanks for being a person of character and instilling that into the program and players.
Thanks Joker for all that you sacrificed for the program. Thank you for giving us a squeaky-clean program and your hard work in recruiting for the program. Thank you for the time and effort in grooming our young men not only for football but also for life.
I am confident you will be successful in whichever path you are lead. Our hearts and prayers are with you always.
