Joker set to make his first comments since his dismissal when practice ends around 12:30. Ill try to update as much as I can as I goes along but bear with me since I'm on my phone. We'll have full coverage ASAP afterwards.
Judging by the number of TV trucks here that aren't usually at football practice this is going to be a madhouse today.
Joker says came here in 81 and hoped for good career and to be an asset and feels he has been, regardless of what people say
Joker: memories most important are with players
Joker: I'm not saddened for me, sad for players and coaches
Joker says goal this year was to show improvement to get to 2013. Dud that early, then injuries and issues set in
Joker: I'm very grateful. This place turned me into a man and strengthened me as a man
Joker: thanks media for bring fair to him.
Joker: I want on my tombstone: good person, good friend, ok ball coach. I'm fine with that
Joker said he nearly didn't coach final 2 games because he didn't want to be distraction. He's had his senior day. Didn't want to be open casket. But owed it to players he recruited
Joker said when he walked out of CWS Saturday he knew it was over
Joker: I'm still part of bbn. Ill still buy my season tix. Stand behind the next coach. I will.
Joker: I don't have a clue what ill do next. Ill step away and let emotions die down
Joker: this is different than any other job. It just is.

Joker: I never asked for anything that Mitch said no to. Not once.
Say what you would like regarding Joker and his head coaching abilities, but he has handled himself with class and dignity in the face of blistering criticism and some very difficult times over the last year or so. Sure do hope fans bury the hatchet, so to speak, and show up at the Samford game to show their appreciation to Joker and the seniors (before any wisecracks re appreciation for the last 3 years, I'm speaking of what he has done for UK over the many years he has been in the program).
Very classy and professional job by Joker. He may have had his issues/limitations as a HC, but he is Wildcat all the way IMO.
Joker was a good man. HC didn't work out. He gave it his best shot. I wish him the very best.
Very best to Joker. . .he is now and will always be a class act. Reading this gave me goosebumps as a UK fan. Really wish it had worked for him. He will land on his feet somewhere.
Not even another year?
I have to say, that first quote made me shed a tear. I don't care about this season, the next coach has a lot to live up to in my mind. Screw any fan that mocks these sentiments, joker is a true wildcat!
