Any chance he doesn't redshirt now and provides corner depth? i remember when he committed, reading that teams flat didn't throw to his side of the field in high school. I know there's a big difference between high school and the SEC. Just wondering if there's any chance he could help out now?
If they are looking for a physical and thick corner to replace Caffey in the freshman class, Reed and Tiller are probably the best bets. Nothing at all against Quinn, but he doesn't (or didn't) have the size of Reed or Tiller.
They're all going to get a chance with the way UK's depth chart looks. How they perform the next 3 weeks is going to determine who, if any of them, will receive PT this year. But you can bet at least one or two will have to play.
I spoke with Reed, Tiller, Quinn and Mike Cassity today and am working on a full story on the defensive backs (particularly corners) situation.
In short: They're all going to get a look. Whether that means they all play or not, that's to be determined by the camp ahead.
Based on the way each talked and the way Cassity spoke, my money would be on Reed to play. Obviously any bets at this point would be foolish since they've all practiced exactly zero times.
Minter and Cassity were really chirping on Tiller and Quinn. That tells me that they think that they can help now.
The fact that Caffey won't be playing shouldn't affect the gameday participation any particular Freshman receives as Neloms will now get the minutes Caffey would have gotten.
