I really think some fans, even a few die hards, didn't realize how good our team was this year. We beat many very good teams and only lost to very good teams.
Good point. Kent State... Wow, what can you say about those guys? Gritty.

And they have had some luck. UF had they bases loaded with 1 out down by one. On the 3-1 pitch, the ball was at least six inches out of the strike zone and it was called a strike.
Oh I forgot to mention the home run against UK.
I thought the 21 inning game would take its toll on both teams. I couldn't have been any more wrong.
I guess this team isn't a "Flash" in the pan?
...but you are not mentioning that the strike zone changed throughout the game and Karl Ravich even made mention of it. Strikes in the early innings became balls for them in the late innings.
Takes more than luck to beat UK twice, wax Oregon and then eliminate UF.
The HR was a lucky bad call, but remember, it would have only tied if it had not been called a HR and we would have had to : 1. take the lead, win 2. win a second game.
Kent State is really good. Whether the Flashes had some things go their way against UK or not, well, all really good teams that reach that point have that. How about the Cardinals in last year's MLB playoffs? They were nowhere near the best team in the playoffs but had some things go their way at the right time and won it all. Still, you don't get there without being really good and Kent has an experienced team with good pitching. That will win you a lot of games. Don't forget, the Flashes also beat the Big 10 champion (Purdue) in front of its home crowd to set themselves up for this run.
