Finally got a bump in the 247 Rankings. Went from a two star (not sure why he was ever that low), to a 3 star with a rating of 85, pushing him into our third highest ranked recruit per the composite system.
Still, as a school we have dropped one spot to 59th. With the quality players we are in on, i expect that to rise a little. The reason I don't expect us to rise THAT much is because it appears that QUANTITY of commits is a heavy factor in the overall team rankings with this composite system. I'd say depending on who we get, we could end up anywhere from low 40's to high 30's. What say you?
I'm not too concerned about where our team ranking ends up. As long as we add quality kids who have other solid offers and/or project well for the staff to develop I will be happy. We likely only take 20-22 commits so teams who take more will have a better advantage in the team rankings department.
To me this says something about the ranking system in general and Joker and his staff for being able to get guys before they become hot commodities. I believe he had several schools looking at him, my understanding was his video was from his soph year and thus the initial evaluation from the ranking analysts. As hard as it is for some, sometimes you have got to trust the coaches. To your credit though, most posters on here have always been high on this kid.

I agree that Joker and his staff have been able to get in on some kids early and secure commitments before they rise in rankings, but this guy doesn't really fit that bill. He had offers from big schools and was a high level recruit, he should have never been a 2 star on 247 to begin with. Had he committed to Ohio State he may have been bumped to a 4 star lol.
You LOL-ed that last comment, but, it's more true than you think.. The offer sheet of a kid or where they sign goes a long ways in alot of ranking systems..
I agree with you about quality kids but star ratings make better rankings and kids look at the rankings a school is getting so it is important even if its only for PR.
