Not necessarily spreading a rumor-but isn't opinion/some reasonable speculation part of these boards? It's just (to me) difficult to see where he logically fits next year, and if the kid himself is willing (or if indeed it's in his best interests) to accept a reduced role and minutes...that's all-and listen...I'm not the least bitter @ this season...if you'd told me 4 years ago we'd reach 2 Final Fours, an Elite 8and a National Championship w/one "off" 21-win season, I think I'd have been OK w/that...
It's not about spreading a rumor. You were questioning a known quantities sources and there is no point in that. Even if they were not a known quantity then you shouldn't question their sources. People can quickly figure out who is legit and who isn't.
Regarding Kyle and where he fits next year. He will accept a diminished role and have to settle for 10-12 min a game if he is lucky. He's going to be a 4 year player cause he is too one dimensional. He's a 3pt specialist and will never be more than that, thus he will be better served by playing around a bunch of top quality kids who will allow him to be open deep. He struggled so much late this season cause we lacked those players and he was easy to game plan for. In the true Dribble Drive Offense the defenses will have to sag to stop the penetration and that leaves Kyle wide open from deep. Catch and shoot which is exactly his game.
OK, man-that's cool-the fascinating part is we'll all get to witness how this plays out-and I'll be around to 'fess up and take my medicine if mistaken..
Nothing wrong with that. He could transfer but it would not be in his best interest, imo.
NVM. I see cobby addressed it.

Fair enough...a logical (and civil) analysis-but he might also be better served by a step down in competition-no disrespect to the Zags, but he might have an opportunity to better develop some post-up moves (as well as shot-faking and putting the ball on the floor occasionally) in that setting...dunno if the end of this year was simply a crisis of confidence or bad chemistry-but he certainly didn't make the strides I believe many of us thought we'd see this year...
I think teams figured him out. He doesn't like the contact in the post and doesn't fight for good position. He is too slow to take his man off the dribble and can't create his own shot. I don't see that changing unless he puts in serious work in the off-season and vastly improves his quickness and lateral quickness too.
The best way to improve your game is to play against quality competition day in and day out in practice. UK didn't afford this team that this year. They had no challenge in practice but next year... HOLY MOLLY! People would pay more to go to the practices than the games the competition is going to be so fierce.
That it will...if your projected roster (even minus Wiggins) is all on the reservation-and nobody hopes you're correct more than I-
Seriously NaCat you can say whatever you want and I'm being as nice as possible but you have no idea what you're seeing when you watch a game or an individual players skill set. Believe it don't believe I don't really care doesn't mean anything to me either way but the UK staff speaks to NBA scouts all the time who come to practices and games. That's what they say about Kyle.Staff knows it too. They'll tell you if you ask them. Just go ask them. lol His game is most benefited by being surrounded by great players who can take their men off the dribble. Did you notice how much he struggled with year when ONLY Goodwin can do so? The same scouts who watch UK closely LOVE Kyle and think a lot more of him at the pro level than you do. If you think Kyle stinks you better just stick with being a fan because no team is coming to hire you. Kyle has a specialty and its shooting. Put him on a team where you have to constantly help off off a 6'9 Kyle standing in the corner as a guard or a wing drives to basket and watch him drain open 3 after open 3.Even if you recover your not blocking it. So its open looks all game. Thats his game. Not what he had to try and do this year but anyways you know more than people who you know actually help make up NBA teams draft boards.

That's all well and good and is probably true, but what you are describing about Kyle doesn't match up well with many other NBA players. There are a few, sure, but not many, and they usually aren't drafted.
Still, Kyle was a top 20 recruit in his class. So there is obviously some talent there. He just had a bad year. He does need to get stronger and work on his footspeed though.
I'd hate to see Wiljter go but I would understand.....stay "Kyyyle" *Cartman style*
Well, friend, I suppose one of us is as employed by an NBA team as the other--and I don't believe I ever said Wiltjer stank--I'll stick by my own opinion, thank you--and leave you "insiders" to dispense wisdom to we the unwashed-that being said, I'll still maintain the pro checks Wiltjer might draw will be overseas--boards are full of swamis w/the "real scoop"--the fascinating thing is we'll find out in time...I'm also taking care to be as nice as you...and I'll be first to give you due credit should you prove correct-
I'm not sure why you can't comprehend it - Greg is passing along what NBA scouts have told the staff. Even if you disagree with that assessment, it doesn't change the fact the info is accurately reported. Now, if you want to suggest Greg is a fraud and is making it all up, go ahead & watch as the whole board laughs at you.

There have been many "wanna be" insiders on UK boards in the last few years. There are some now. But Greg is not one of them.
Greg clearly has a good handle on what is going on, but to me the Wiltjer information doesn't pass the "sniff test". Kyle has a lot of potential, but he's seriously limited physically. I'm not sure he can change that. When you look at similar players in the NBA they are all a bit quicker laterally than Kyle and able to play more on the perimeter. They are also more able to play passable defense, something which Kyle is not currently.
But the larger discussion is about whether he will, or should, transfer. I think only he can make that decision and we should support him in whatever he chooses to do. Discussion about it is meaningless speculation no matter who is driving it at this point.
So Chad Ford is wrong about WCS not being in the lottery right now. And Greg is wrong about Wiltjer. What are the winning lottery #'s?
@ChrisFisher247 @timothy_munford @duke5021 @ctmayo90 I'll just b honest. Never looked like Kyle Wiltjer cared if on court or bench this year
@jerrymeyer247 Not even sure UK staff expected him to commit. Believe they preferred Chane Behanan.

A simple question: is your butt jealous of the amount crap coming from your mouth?
Sorry but anyone stating the NBA LOVES K. Wiltjer is crazy. This is the weakest draft in the history of the game coming this June and he would not be in the second, let alone first round.
He does bring one skill set - shooting from deep. But for every K. Wiltjer this year, you can find 10 more that are limited defensively.
This is the killer for me. I'm usually a pretty good judge of this stuff, and I think he's got an attitude problem.
Mark Coury would mop the floor with Kyle Wiltjer... And then beat him 21-0 in a make it, take it one on one matchup. And then mop the floor again, bc he is both dominant and tidy... Just wanted to go old school, sorry lol
I had no idea Wiljter was being like that...if thats the case, then see ya later Kyle.
To be clear, I have no idea either. We are just speculating off of a random tweet. But I think it's worth thinking about.
Jerry Meyer didn't watch the ole miss game... or much of the middle of the season when Kyle was actually starting to take a leadership role. He then hit his late season funk from the outside and started to fade.
My point of the post is that if that Chris Fisher is the same Chris Fisher here, don't condemn folks for talking about the posibility of a transfer. Especially if he is doing it on a public site with another tweeter.
Obviously there was more to the conversation between C. Fisher and J. Meyer. What was said, who knows. But it looks like a choice between K. Wiltjer and C. Behanan, and the staff was shocked to get K. Wiltjer.
I read the conversation. Only thing chris said was that Kyle chose Uk to compete with the best. Nothing about his effort. That was Jerry.
