Howdy, folks. I'm here at Cliff Hagan Stadium for No. 3 UK vs. No. 7 Florida. Florida won last night's series opener 5-3. LHP Jerad Grundy goes for UK against RHP Karsten Whitson.
I'll provide updates here and on my Twitter account at http://www.twitter.com/pennington_jl
The game is available to watch on CSS and on ESPN3.com. It starts at 7 p.m. eastern, which is right now.
It will be interesting to see how the Cats deal with some pressure tonight. Gotta get this thing even.

Yep. UK has been really good in series this year in which they lost game one. They'll need to be as good tonight.
Florida strikes first, gets a run in the top of the first. UK down 1-0 coming to bat.
Kentucky has fallen behind and had to play catch up entirely too often in the first inning or two recently. That doesn't work over the long haul against top flight competition.
That said, they just tied it up in first.
Any further updates?

Still 1-1 Top of the 6th.. Cats have stranded 8 runners.
Quick. Someone throw an alarm clock by the bats. Time to wake up.
Make it 10 runners now. This is the second weekend they have struggled to gets guys across.
Game tied at 1 through seven. It's been a wildly different story for the two offenses, though.
-Florida's Nolan Fontana led off the game with a double and went on to score. He's the only Florida runner to advance past first. UK starter, LHP Jerad Grundy, is only 76 pitches deep through 7IP
-Kentucky's Austin Cousino led off the game with a hit by pitch and came around to score. He's the only UK player to score. But through seven complete innings, UK has left at least one runner in scoring position stranded in five of the seven innings.
Florida breaks the tie in the top of the eighth with a one-out single by Josh Tobias. Grundy is pulled after 7.1 quality innings.
Think they just said in the last six games including tonight the Cats have left 56 runners stranded.
I'm sorry but this thread reminds me of the movie Major League when Bob Uecker passes out and the other announcer takes over.
"Fly ball. Caught."
I'm really trying to keep up with the game so more updates would be appreciated.
Top 9th. Henderson going to the bullpen. Cats down 3-1 with one out. Runner on 2nd for UF.

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately I'm not able to listen so following along on the board is all I got.
They really seem to be stuck in a rut here lately. Hopefully they can pull out of it and fast.
Wheels appear to be coming off.
They did. UK gave up three runs in the top of the ninth. UF up 5-1, one out, bottom of the ninth.
Florida wins 5-1. Story coming up in a bit.
