I'm not real crazy about it. I don't think coaches from other schools should comment about kids who went elsewhere unless it's to praise them. But I also understand that these "club" events and fan-based speeches are kind of rah-rah deals where some stuff like this is said.
LSU coach Les Miles questioned would-be Tigers quarterback Ginner Keil's ability to lead on Wednesday, adding he felt the program had done better by winning a commitment from Jeremy Liggins.

That's childish on Miles part.
nope makes him looked like a scorned teenage girl, the coaches should remember that they are the adults dealing with 18 year old kids. they change there minds and are free to do so, taking a shot at them makes you look like ish.
There was also an incident yesterday where a VT coach was overheard telling a recruit who had flipped at the last minute that he was "betraying his homeboys..." Ridiculous behavior by coaches - they know how the game is played, and they play it too.
Kind of want Kiel to have a press conference now and say he wanted to go somewhere where he thought he could cross the 50-yard line.
You would've thought miles high school sweetheart left him for a geeky kid thinking that he wasn't good enough to lead his team. I'm sorry but I don't think Jordan Jefferson really was a role model. He wouldn't have even played a down for most teams this year

nice use of that emoticon.
Just saw where James Franklin gave a talk to VU students and said those that flipped on him were not "men of honor" or "men of integrity." Don't these idiots see the double standard in that?! They are more than willing to flip a commit to them, but woe upon those that do it to them...
Pretty much the same with Frank Beamer at VTech. Apparently he was having a private convo and was overheard by a reporter saying something along those same lines about a recruit that flipped to Miami I believe.
"Kentucky Football needs to be and will be a championship contender in the SEC."~Mitch Barnhart 11/4/12
They found that wasn't Beamer, it was an assistant.
Les would have been better served had he called Gunner on his cell and given him the "silent treatment".
1.) The kid is a teenager, Les Miles is not. Grow up.
2.) I understand the point of "club" events, but in this day and age, everyone has something to video tape you with, so you better expect it.
Exactly on #2. Anything you ever say or do in a group setting is going to be captured by someone these days.
I don't care if it was in a back room with only a couple of close friends. It shows lack of CLASS to call out an 18yr old kid. Les Miles is a jerk. nuff said.
What did Les expect. The kid alreaded proved himself untrustworthy by dumping IU
I won't disagree ...BUT
Anybody here coach one your kids ball teams? Anybody here hoped a kid misses a FT in the final minute to help your team win? Anyone on here hope the opposing batter strikes out with runners on 2nd/3rd and your team up 1?
Big fan of Les Miles but he's better than that. I'm sure LSU will be just fine with or without Kiel.
Yeah, all coaches need to use the thumper approach,"if you can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all."
Of course. And its ok to think these things. What you don't do is say them out loud. Having class a lot of times just means shutting your mouth.
Thats pretty funny. We all know James Franklin will flip on the entire University as soon as a bigger/better job comes along. That much is guaranteed.
for sure...since ND does not play Bama.
