I was curious if anyone knew of how many linebackers UK was looking to take this year, and who is high on their list. I know that they have a good chance with Benjamin, but what other players do they have a good chance with? Thanks.
I think Jeremy Benjamin, Skai Moore and (maybe) Jermaine Grace are the guys moving to the top of the board with some of the other main targets having committed elsewhere. Definitely a position that remains a priority from here on out.

I've been wondering the same thing and the staff doesn't seem to be too worried honestly. Drennon could be a LB in college. I don't think we have a chance with Moore or Grace.
Thanks for the information. With them only signing 2 linebackers last year, it would seem that they would sign at least 2 this year. I'm sure there will be some new names that pop up with it still being early in the process.
Also, some of their best "sleepers" over the years have been LBs. Could be a guy or two lingering out there that we haven't heard reports on yet, a la Trevathan.
Benjamin's name has really started to pop up with us being a big contender after he played in Texas behind Hyde and him being in his ear and talking about how easy his job would be with that big monster in front of him taking up 2 or 3 lineman right?
Playing behind Hyde is Solo Tackle city.
That's the hope!
And he's a great ambassador for the program, too. I think kids who spend some time with him will be drawn to Kentucky. They need to find a way to get him and Timmons together for a couple of days.
Yep, send Timmons, Alexander, Drennon, and every LB recruit off to Vegas for a weekend. Commit city, right there.
Rick Minter stated that LB recruiting was the most important position for UK to address in this upcoming class.
Benjamin was in Texas too? I did not know that.
Benjamin is a hoss at lb. Blows folks up. If we land Benjamin and a couple more good LB's...Skai Moore...some sleeper in florida thats super quick and knocks the snot of out people ala Trevathan, Woodyard, I think this class will ultimately be the one that adds to the underrated 2012 class to put UK on top...if only for a couple seasons...in the SEC east...remember Ga, SC, Tenn, Fla will be losing a lot of guys early to the NFL...while UK will be getting deeper and experienced..especially up front. WE no longer have to throw true freshman under the proverbial truck that is SEC football..they can ease into thier roles behind very good players. By the time Cobble and Rumph leave..Thomas Chapman, Pat Graffree, Christan Coleman.Jacob Hyde and whoever else we sign at DT in 2013 will be sophopmores and juniors and ready to hold up blockers for Dupree..Kadeem Thomas, K.Henderson, and all the other LB's that will be running wild behind a stud front line. If you get two guys up front that both demand 2 blockers..your linebackers suddenly look like superstars.
Same for the offense...Darrian Miller, Zach West, TE Nared, will be seasoned vets in 2013-2014...with pleanty of good young guys pushing them with the 2012/2013 O-Line classes both heavy on the Bigs. The stars are aligned for UK in 2013/2014....lets just hope they shine bright and no rain clouds obscure our view(injuries/coaching changes).
Rick Minter will have lots of options in his 3-4 multiple front scheme to blitz from every angle...especially with speedy lb's like josh Forrest, McDuffen, Dupree, and Now thomas/Henderson ect. Guys like Huguenin, Mike Douglass, Dupree and Forrest will apply tons of pressure im sure.
