#18 Louisville drops one AT HOME against South Florida. Ouch. Gotta love it when a bubble team pops a rival lol
Also, Cincy knocks off a tough #7 Marquette team. Good night of college ball tonight.
Welcome the new generation of domination.
That loss by Louisville was on their senior night by the way...lol
Honestly, one of the worst played games I've seen in the last five years. Looked like USF wasn't even trying to win and they still won.
USF is now 12-5 in the Big East and Louisville is now 10-7. . . If it had went the other way both would be 11-6, not a huge shocker I guess. . . . Living in the area I usually cheer for USF, and obviously I cheer against Louisville so I was very pleased tonight,
I have a feeling if the BE gets 8-10 bids it's going to play out much like it did last year in the NCAA Tournament. That's to say: not good.
Postgame call-in show coming up on WHAS. Could be a meltdown.

Pitino snap at the media tonight? Or did he even answer questions?
Did he do the show or send his son out to do it?
"Kentucky Football needs to be and will be a championship contender in the SEC."~Mitch Barnhart 11/4/12
yep, "upsets" all around. . . .
They are hammering Pitino on WHAS.
One guy just said "Does anybody where those 'GOT PITINO?' shirts anymore? Please, somebody TAKE PITINO."
Another guy just called in angry about them having a great arena now with no team while UK is killing it.
Crazy that after this season, Calipari could have more tournament wins in three years at UK than Pitino has in 11 at UofL. Wow.
Also, in 8 years at UK, Pitino lost more than 7 games in a season one time. In 11 years at UofL, he's done it 8 times.
^but the big east is so hard!
Success is more difficult, many times, to deal with than "failure." With success you many times forget who you are and what it took to get there.
You are balancing on a razor's edge in being at the top of any profession or endeavor in life. Coach Pitino had it nailed at UK and let it slip away.......
The "magic" and his confidence / fire for the game has been greatly diminished for a few years now. His years at Kentucky was a gift that he, in his own
mind and ego, took to much credit for; it was a great marriage while it lasted. Kentucky basketball will endure regardless of the coaching change, we've proven that.
I don't hate Coach Pitino, rather he is to be pitied. He was good for us while he was here.
As one message board poster put it tonight "Pitino has made $60Million from UL for what he accomplished at UK".
I just watched the last 6mins and I couldnt stop laughing. USF looked terrible and UL would go down the court and miss dunks and Siva missed a 8 footer 2 feet to the left.
WE ARE UK
Think I heard the two teams combined for 5 missed dunks and 6 missed layups.
Must've been that vaunted Big East defense that forced those misses. [rolleyes]
With all do respect to Cal and what he did his last few years at Memphis, this goes to show the school matters. In Pitino's case he hasn't been able to achieve the same success as he did at UK, while Cal's recruiting went from outstanding to incredible. Cal's success at UK will obviously beat what he did at Memphis as well.
AMEN! UK has the ability to make really good coaches GREAT if they put forth the same effort. You are witnessing this with Cal and with Pitino. You also can look back and see how if a coach doesn't take advantage of the benefits of the KENTUCKY name that it helps them despite slacking off.
UK made Pitino more than he made UK.
Same is happening here with Cal. He wasn't able to recruit these type classes year in and year out at Memphis or Umass...
I talked to a friend tonight who lives in the Tampa-St. Pete area. He's not a huge college sports fan, but when I told him about the game, he said "USF has a basketball team???"
Pitino has a Championship while he was UK's coach, Cal. does not. Until Cal. wins one he will always be in Pitino's shadow with the Louisville faithful and quite a few UK fans. The 96 team was the most fun to watch basketball team IMHO, UK has ever put on the floor so like him or not, Pitino coached that team to a Championship.
All the number 1 recruiting classes UK has had means nothing without the Gold Ring.
The meanest dog in Taiwan.
Louisville can't shoot bottom line. If you can't score points or dictate tempo then you won't make much noise in the NCAA tourney. Look for another early round exit for the dirty birds and the heat on Spintino to reach an all-time high. His days are numbered if they don't make it to at least the sweet 16.
I disagree. If you're only measure of success is a NCAA Championship, we've won three in the last 54 years.
51 home wins means something.
Finishing the regular season ranked #1 in the AP poll means something.
Winning the SEC means something.
Making it to the Final Four means something.
Having more wins than any other college team means something.
Having a coach with high character that can be trusted means something.
Bulls are looking for their 1st NCAA tournament appearance since 1992.
