LOL. You don't know what your talking about as much as he or I.
Ohio State most certainly made a run at Drew Barker but it was too late. He could've gone there if he wanted to.
As for Kief, I could be wrong but I doubt it. ;]
Yeah, poor little ole Ryan Timmons. He was left standing without "real" offers from tO$U and UF, so he just went with the fallback plan of the lowly in-state school. If only Urban Meyer had REALLY wanted him. Get out of here with that garbage.
I think you are just going with the old assumption that there is no way little ole Kentucky could possibly come into Ohio and get a player who has a commitable offer from OSU. He very well could end up at OSU, but it won't be simply because he's an Ohio kid with an offer from there. He is VERY close with Barker and all of the other studs from Ohio who are suddenly lining up to play at UK these days. Our new offense is VERY exciting to elite WR's and playing in the SEC, even if for one of the traditional bottom-dwellers, is becoming more and more appealing to players all over the country.
There is no doubt a strong pull for OH kids to play at OSU if given the chance, but with our new staff and the strong lure to play in an exciting offense that showcases the passing game in the spotlight of the SEC, I wouldn't be so quick to write off the possibility that an OH kid with a commitable offer from OSU would choose UK instead. It could very well be that he chooses OSU, but times are a changing at UK, my friend.
It'a actually pretty amazing what OSU does in recruiting, that is if you go by their boards. They actually always get their top recruits at every position. If a high level recruit goes elsewhere, the forum consensus have two collective reasons for this.
1. OSU staff are higher on another recruit and have lost interest in the recruit
2. The recruit didn't have a committable offer, because they are after another recruit.
Must be great to always get your #1 recruits
Welcome to House of Blue, and come back often

Ohio State got both Dontre Wilson out of Texas and James Clark out of Florida on signing day. The staff held Timmons off knowing both were a possibility. Timmons didn't want to wait.
As for Barker, OSU's staff is enamored with Deshaun Watson. Watson is going to Clemson though. I'm hoping we end up with Allen from AZ.
When exactly did Ohio State offer Barker? Who from the staff extended it?
I don't remember OSU ever formally offering him.
Staffs don't just hand out offers to guys when they know it is too late or a waste if time. No one other than UK and USCjr had a realistic shot by the time OSU got truly involved.
I guess it should be pretty obvious now what some of our recruits are facing out there everyday from a perception standpoint. OSU fans, USC fans, etc all think Kentucky is way way beneath them and anyone considering UK over one of these schools must have temporarily lost their minds.
Difficult to commit to a school when that school does not offer you.
Buckeyes didn't offer Allen until May. Shortly after they visited Barker...Barker had already made up his mind. Not saying Ohio State offered him, because they didn't need to.
Ohio State is still recruiting Watson extremely hard and he's been committed to Clemson forever.
Urban Meyer doesn't care if a kid is committed elsewhere or not. If he wants him, he'll go after him.
Barker never received an offer from OSU.
Point is they would have offered if they had any chance which they didn't. Thanks for visiting.
Did anyone here say they offered?
People are claiming Barker chose UK over OSU.
The fact is, OSU was never an option for him.
Man, I'm certainly glad to have met the authoritative expert on who OSU has offered, what the OSU recruiting board looks like, and the inner workings of OSU football recruiting.
For years, I read this forum and thought to myself "What I really need is an in-depth and credible source for all things Ohio State football." You don't understand the deep level of care that I have for the inner-most secrets of OSU football recruiting.
Thank you, Devidee, for fulfilling all of my hopes and dreams.
Now if only we could get a few more posters over here from other schools to tell me what, exactly, their staffs are doing on the recruiting trail and make guarantees about recruits that UK will never have commit. My life would be complete.
We can change the name of the forum from "The House of Blue" to "The House of Recruiting Knowledge for Programs Other than Kentucky and Why Kentucky will Never Receive a Commitment from Recruits that those Schools Want."
The future is so exciting.
Hey guys its pretty awesome when you think about it. We got UGA fans, OSU fans, USC fans now coming to our bad talking trash. We have no doubt moved on up in the world of elite football recruiting. Thank you Coach Marrow, Thank you Coach Stoops, Thank you Staff, and a special thanks to all the haters. You guys make getting up in the morning worth it.
I'm not trash talking anyone. Stoops is doing an outstanding job at UK and I'm really happy to see it.
Also, my attitude toward OSU football recruiting in terms of UK is opposite of basketball.
That is, I would never expect OSU to get a basketball recruit that UK really wants.
It's just the reality of the two schools.
You really have no understanding of recruiting at all. OSU made a late run at Barker. B/c they waited so long there was no real reason to offer due to the fact that he had made up his mind. Make no mistake about it though, if Barker wanted to attend OSU Urban would have offered. Urban didn't want egg on his face at that point.
Everyone that is attacking Devidee needs to chill out...he came over here with a nice post and has continued to praise Stoops and what he is doing. Pretty much everything he has said is also true...we are on the rise and we might just be able to get Kief...but almost 90% of the time we are going to lose the battle going head to head vs them (right now) all that could change with what Stoops is doing but at this current time...OSU is OSU and UK is still UK until we prove otherwise.
It's May. Barker hasn't signed with anyone yet.
If Meyer wanted Barker he would offer and recruit the hell out of him until signing day.
OSU simply has other QBs they want instead. That doesn't have anything to do with Barker's talent level.
So Urban recruits any kid he wants even if he knows there is no way that kid is going to break his commitment with a given school to choose OSU. I highly doubt that. Urban does not waste his time.
Again, he's still going after Watson even after Watson cancelled his visit to OSU and told the staff he was sticking with Clemson.
Meyer has absolutely no problem extending offers to guys that have been committed elsewhere for sometime.
Maine, that's exactly the opposite of what he said.
He has guaranteed that UK will not sign Kief by asserting that he (Kief) may sign somewhere other than OSU, but that it will not be UK. He has made numerous other assertions implying his intimate knowledge of OSU's recruiting and insinuating that Timmons and Josh Edwards have blatantly lied about the circumstances of recruitment targets.
I guess you're OK with someone walking into your house and telling you to hush up and know your place, but I'm not. If he wants to say it, it's his perogative, but I'm not sure why you think I (or anyone else) should be so accepting of someone else's reality on a message board designed for UK fans.
I certainly appreciated his initial post, but his follow up posts were completely unnecessary and the product of his overwhelming need to "correct" Edwards and Timmons.
