Very surprising, but Dez Wells is eligible to play now against UK. I'm very surprised he won his appeal. That usually doesn't work out. Maryland just got a whole lot tougher. Still like UK to win by 6-8 points.
Here's the story from USA Today:
Two days before it opens the season against the defending national champion, Maryland received a present.
Has he been practicing? I assume he has. TIA.
Big news for Terps and bad for us. He might be the best college basketball player on the court this Friday.
He's good no doubt. Don't know if I'd go that far though.
Yea, he didn't play in our exhibition though.
"I like fixing broken things" - Kevin Plank
Might be better put if I said he could be the best blend of talent and some college experience on the floor Friday.
Anyone think the professor would let us adjust our prediction a little?

Maryland has to replace a ton of scoring just like UK. I think Noel, Goodwin, and Alex Proythress will have a lot to say to who is the best player on the floor. We have a bit to much talent for Maryland to handle right now and we are getting better by the day. As long as we shoot the ball fairly well and play our style of defense then we are going to win going down the stretch. Yes Wells is good but lets not get carried away and act like he can beat UK by himself, Maryland has as many questions to thier team as we do ours. When that happens usually the team with the most talent usually wins, and we have the most talent. Cauley Stein and Noel will come to play and hopefully Alex and Archie play well too because eventually we are going to find out what we are, as far as on defense and offense. When that happens we are going to be a fun team to watch, I think Ryan also needs to play well and has had a little bit of experience playing against ACC schools which will hopefully help him play better than he has the last two exhibition games. Good luck cats and I think we win by 8 to 12.
Anyone may change their prediction at any time prior to tipoff. If you do, be sure to do so in a new post, and highlight that you are changing your prediction so I will recognize it.
Thanks Professor but I will leave it the way I first predicted, anyway it was kind of a quip. Thanks again Professor
No doubt UK has much more talent than Maryland and having 2 big guys that can help shut down Len I think the advantage is ours. Dez Wells is a good player and should make it more difficult for KY to win but like you said when everything else is equal talent will prevail.

I clicked this thread thinking that I would see that Maryland has hired Coach Billy Gillispie.
I have some doubts. But they did clear Noel with no suspension.
Yea I have my doubts as well hearing the NCAA is about to clear Bazz as well. Everyone thinks they know this and that but in the end the NCAA has their own set of rules. I hope nothing comes back to hurt us with Nerlens like Rose did with Memphis. I mean the NCAA has had this happen before and more than likely it will happen again, just hope its not UK that gets hurt. You can bet before long someone will get it handed to them just like Memphis. Plus does anyone else think that this more is put on the coaches no matter what is directed at any certain coach? I think so and I think that the Washington guy over the NCAA is dying to get coach Cal.... Just hope Cal keeps his nose clean because he's at UK and he shouldn't have to do anything on the wrong side of the tracks..
