The SEC was awful anyway. Cal needs to have a serious talk with these kids and find out their intentions. If enough of them are leaving, you decline the NIT bid and not subject anyone more of their games. It's been bad enough. If they are coming back, then you have to take the free practice time in the NIT
all we had to do is beat vandy...even tho i knew we werent in its sinking in now...this hurts man we dont even get into the tourney coming in ranked number 3 to start the season...to me the losses that hurt the worst were being up 11 at half at bama we gotta win that game...and you have to go into georgia and win i mean come on...and then obviously vandy...we win those 3 games and finish season 25-8 we r a 6-7 instead of at home watching

Lexington paper w article talking about 4 first round draft choices today. Needed a good coach.
Let's not play the blame game. UK was aged awful and only almost made the tourney because of how everyone else sucked. Own our sh--. We were disgusting.
Agree on so many teams that got in sucking. Speaks to the overall lousy job Cal did between recruiting & coaching.
NCAA chair Mike Bobinski says Middle Tennessee got in because of veteran team that won on road. Said others (UK) didn't win on road.
We didn't get in because of NN injury. Worst time to have the injury.
sad...it's like committee ignored the whole season for us, and only focused on the last 8 games.
Hard for me to blame Cal. It was a bad crop of freshmen nationally.... Even the best ones.
It's almost like he did too well last year. Ha ha. Regardless, all of this "we were better than those guys" discussion is silly. Any other year, and we would have not even been in the discussion. I didn't even watch and won't be watching the NIT. It's football time.
UCLA lost Jordan Adam, not the best player i know, but if he was out for the past 8 games UCLA could have not made it to tourney.
BUt they lost him at the very end, which had minimal effect. Maybe 1+ seed.
Can't decline nit bid unless do it at start of year.
It's the bad losses that did us in. UK had 7 losses against teams outside the top-50 RPI. That's significantly more than any team that made the field as an at-large team. There were only 2 at-large teams that lost as many as 5 outside the top-50.
I have no problem with us being out. Shocked only 3 SEC teams got in. But there are a lot more deserving teams out there than middle Tennessee. They have a veteran team but played a really weak schedule. They don't deserve to be in. Veterans should not be a deciding factor, neither should road wins. No games played are road games.
Heard him say this a couple which I find interesting since the games are played at neutral sites. Fail to see how road wins really matter. Should be about wins.
you cant put it all on cal...cal must have magically got worse at coaching cause last year he did a great job coaching and won a national champ...the year be4 he did another horrible job and got to the final four...guy must suck...during games guys would literally hold the ball and look at cal like what do i do now...youve been playing basketball your whole life go make a play...when the play called doesnt work you go make a play thats what happens...whether it is harrow or goodwin off the dribble or poythress, wiltjer or cauley in the post someone has to just play basketball and not look to cal and have him say ok kyle get down on the block or willie go set a screen or poythress jump and dunk the ball when a guy is 4 inches and 20 pounds less then you...the one problem this team had is it couldnt create for itself...we were one guy away from being really good...we had 2 chances there names are mark lyons and dez wells
I'm sure Calipari would be the first one to say he did a crappy job this year. I don't think we really need to dwell on it. He'll do better next year.
that was a complete joke.. honestly they got in due to veteran leadership.. not to mention the only fact they were good on the road was because the teams they played were god awful..
2 road wins and 1 neutral site win RPI 100-150
9 road wins and 1 neutral site win RPI 150+
so i dont see how those road wins are any good
not to mention they lost to florida by 19

Sounding like there might be some wiggle room on UK possibly hosting NIT game. Was told earlier they wouldn't. We'll know at 9 pm-ish.
You are always the carrier of good news matt lol.
They can't decline an NIT bid. It's not an option. It has to be done before the season starts.
This has been mentioned over and over!!!!
You just answered your own question. They won their road games, we did not. Pretty simple when you think about.
Maybe, but, many more bad losses.
Sorry.... I've been reading books instead of reading all of your posts.
Minnesota beat Illinois, Michigan St, Indiana and Wisconsin - want to reconsider that comment ?
