Per footballscoop - Jimmy Brumbaugh from East Mississippi
Since 1999, the premier source for coaching job information. A resource for coaches and athletic directors.
Kentucky Football: If you have to ask, you wouldn't understand.
Any idea how good of a position coach this guy is. Can he recruit? Not really familiar with him.
And then there were two.
HC/CB: Mark Stoops (FSU)
OC/QB: Neal Brown (Texas Tech)
OL: John Schlarman (Troy)
TE: Vince Marrow (Nebraska)
WR: Darrin Hinshaw ???
RB: Chad Scott (Texas Tech)
DC/LB: DJ Eliot (FSU)
DT: Jimmy Brumbaugh (East Miss CC)
DB: Bradley Peveto (Northwestern St)
JUCO Connection? Was also S&C coach for LSU at one point. Could that be his spot here?

Stints at Syracuse and Louisiana Tech. Also helped the strength and conditioning at LSU for 2 years.
Looks like he was on LSU's 2007 National championship team. In looking at East Miss CC discovered the team is loaded with talent. Hopefully he can convince a few kids to follow him to Lexington.

Played at Auburn and is from Fla so he ought to have some good connections in the South. And isn't this the school that our former commit Washington plays for?
Looks like quite a few solid guys on the EMCC squad. (DE) Za'Darius Smith (6-5/252/4.7 40) looks to be the uncommitted 4* plum

Give EMCC's roster from 2010-2013 a look and check out the SEC starters that come from that school. Za'Darius Smith is the only uncommitted guy for 2013, was considering FSU when Stoops and Eliot were there. Also a position of huge need at SDE.
Looks to be a somewhat unknown hire, having only coached DL at La. Tech and EMCC, but could be invaluable for recruiting purposes.
Washington plays for Hinds, not EMCC ( had to check myself, btw ) but EMCC is freakin' LOADED with talent.
Keep Calm & Stoops On..
May be short in experience but he also has some help on the staff.
Hell he also played the position, so he knows the ins and outs of it, so to speak.
Not one eyebrow so far on Stoops' staff. I can't believe things are looking up for Kentucky football. This is awesome guys.
Been a Cat fan since August of '92
Thanks Mike. Would love Za'Darius Smith. I wonder if they have a Center. Thats one spot that is very concerning to me.
No worries man. I'm sure if they do, we'll know soon.
Myers was brought in to be a center and by all estimates he's a good one. Watson could also handle it in a backup role I'm sure. Though you never want to 1.5 deep at any position, it's not an end-of-the-world kind of deal. One of our current commits, can't remember which one, but I seem to remember they were said to be a lefty snapper when he plays the center spot - though I have no idea if any of those guys besides maybe Bodkin will be kept.
The issue with these guys are they have never taken a college snap. Not sure that is what we really want out of the guy in charge of the Oline on the field. I have heard (read?) that maybe Z West was going to move to C? Not sure, but looks like a weak link to me.
I think West was planned to move to center but he went under the knife (shoulder surgery) at almost the exact same time Stoops was hired.
Did you notice where Jimmy B, is from? I would say that juco connections are something he knows about.
He coached DL at Syracuse last year (before coming to EMCC). I've met him before and he's a really nice, laid back guy. Great personality for recruiting.
it appears that the following could be maybe that Coach Brumbaugh could bring along
DT - Maurice Bennett (uncommitted)
DE - Lauren Jackson (uncommitted)
DE - Za'Darius Smith (uncommitted)
DE - Jarran Reed (Ole Miss)
Jesus every guy Stoops has hired has major connections with High Major talent. Its groundhog day everytime one of these coaches is announced. Always the same thing, extremely connected to big time players in an area that we need to be connected.
I believe the former staff had RS FR Zack Myers penciled in for C for 2013. But with the new staff we will have to wait and see. Probably a lot of positions up for grabs.
I like Myers a lot but not only has he never played a snap in an actual college game but he also had his practice time limited by a high ankle sprain,IIRC. West has game experience, not at center, but he just had shoulder surgery at the same time as Stoops got hired. We need serious help at center, IMO.
