This is going to go on for a while, folks. Cal's tweet and blog post today did nothing to silence the NYC people.
John Calipari was still nine months away from winning his first national championship when a coaching confidant broached the subject of possibly coaching the Knicks in the not-so-distant future.

I really think Cal is staying. I agree he has the best coaching job for him. Kentucky isn't for everyone, but he is perfect for the pressure, prestige, and constant spotlight that is put on you being the Wildcat coach. I think he is the biggest coaching name in all of basketball right now including the NBA. There really isn't another job that can offer him what he already has at Kentucky. Remember Rick Pitino regrets leaving us and I don't think Cal will make the same mistake.
This won't go away until the Knicks hire another coach. Their mindset is that they are better than a college team and that their state is superior... They don't understand the power of the Big Blue Nation... AKA Camelot! We are the MECCA of basketball.
Frank Isola is a troll and is full of you know what. That guy is awful(follow him on twitter and you'll see what I mean). Seemed to me like he made most of that stuff up. On twitter he was so sure Cal was interested in the job and yet he writes an article and couldn't even provide anything to back it up or even attribute anything to a source regarding Cal's interest?
You'd at least think he would say "according to a source Calipari is interested in the Knicks job" if he had/knew anything.

After Joey Votto signed his John Fay of the Cincinnati Enquirer re-tweeted this from Joey:
A big reason Votto's close to signing as extension? "I'm about to sign a huge deal, John, and you're the only media I have answer to." #reds
Explaining why he didn't wait for offers from bigger media markets. I seriously doubt Cal goes to the Knicks, but then there's always a chance.
As you can see with Joey above though, not everyone's fantasy is to live in NYC and Boston. Cal has the scratch to visit any big market town anytime he wishes.

We just need to not acknowledge this stuff, and DON'T fall for the coach speak excuse for others. I know all about coach speak and reading people's words, I'm a lawyer for a living. IF John were even considering leaving this year he doesn't make a direct statement to the fans via twitter. He doesn't make a statement a few weeks ago "To all the fans and recruits considering the University of Kentucky, I will be the coach there next year". He's too damn smart to do that if he would even entertain it. If and when Cal ever decides to consider something, we will for damn sure know it by his comments. I can still remember when he walked off the plane in Memphis after his sweet 16 loss and the reporters asking him about UK. The Memphis people believed he was staying and were all giddy and stating that "Cal said he is staying!". However, when I heard and read his answer in print I immediately said he is listening to the UK people if they wish to talk, and he clearly didn't say he was staying.
Now that the University of Memphis basketball season has ended, attention shifts to the annual speculation about the future of its head coach.
Interesting point, but Joey's a somewhat introverted Canadian dude who really values his privacy. I can see why he wanted that deal with the Reds.
With Cal, even though I believe him when he says this is where he wants to be, it's not a stretch to think he'd want some of that NYC spotlight again.
AND he doesn't go out of his way to make a blog post on his website saying he ISN'T GOING ANYWHERE a day after winning the National Championship if there is even the slightest chance that he may not be back.
I remember back at Memphis when he got off the plane, it was obvious he wanted to avoid the question(my immediate thought was that he wanted the UK job). If he was approached by the media and gave the usual coach denial, fine maybe I would buy that he may leave....but going OUT OF YOUR WAY to contact Andy Katz, Mike Decourcy, tweeting and making a blog post on your damn website to inform everyone that you aren't going anywhere is NOT coach speak.
If the Miami Heat or the Chicago Bulls came calling you'd have to think Cal would leave. I don't see Cal being interested in coaching for one of the most dysfunctional organizations in the NBA and for such a meddling owner. It's not easy to win there.
Larry Brown was treated like crap there, saw 1st hand what that organization/owner was like and was fired after 1 season. You have to believe he has advised Cal to stay far far away from the Knicks job.
Yeah I'd be much more worried if the Bulls or Heat job was open.
I hate to tell Knicks fan but he's ours. No way he's leaving for that job at this point. Not gonna happen. They might as well move on.
He's already said he's coming back. I don't know why we need to keep posting all this crap. In essence, you guys (sorry Jeff) are keeping the "problem" in the forefront by bringing attention to it. Just stop and there won't be any issues.
Its these guys' job to REPORT all things UK. Lets say these guys chose not to report this stuff (because some UK fans don't want to hear or read it) and Cal bolted? They would be crucified for not reporting it because of people getting blindsided. And I hate to tell you this, but not reporting on it or ignoring it won't make it go away or keep Cal at UK.
Go and read the mizzou thread. Get a little taste of the staff for the Tigerrs fans (I haven't forgot about Dumbass #1) and what they are blessed with. If you don't have a renewed appreciation for our guys then I don't know what to tell you.

I think they should give it a rest. We all know it's out there on the Knicks end. Cal has said he's coming back. That's the end of the story and every single time some nimrod writes a story about how the Knicks are still interested we don't need it to be broadcasted here.
Edited to add: I think the staff here is excellent, particularly Jeff. They write some of the best articles and have some of the best information on the internets.

He did that yesterday how many times must he say it? Listen I know what really drives this & that's one reason I've stopped watching ESPN for the most part & just about stay off message boards anymore also, so in closing enjoy 8 & look forward to next season because he will be here, Go Big Blue!!!!
IT'S GO BIG BLUE TIME!!!!
Cal's name being mentioned with the NBA is always going to be one job opening away.
Well there really isn't much more Cal can do about it. People either believe him or they don't.
What he said!
