What are your 5 favorite college campuses in the country? I am not talking just sports, but your overall opinion. Just curious. My list is below:
1) UCLA - stunning campus & climate
2) Cornell - picturesque setting with gorges galore
3) North Carolina - traditional southern charm
4) Florida - love the greenspaces & campus layout
5) Colorado - right on the edge of the Rockies with outstanding outdoor activities
Honorable mentions: College of Charleston, Michigan, Washington
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I, I took the one less traveled by, and it has made all the difference (Frost).
UNC Chapel Hill
Love to see Rice, Duke, Cranbrook
Nice list Kooky. I had Virginia in my top 10, but just didn't spend enough time there to put them in the top 5.
Just looked at Swarthmore. That is one beautiful campus!
In no particular order:
William and Mary
Sewanee (University of the South)
Your team. All the time.
Pepperdine has to be at the top of every list
Wow Kevin. I completely forgot about Pepperdine. That campus is UNREAL. Gotta disagree Notre Shame ... um ... Dame, though. Respect your list; Miami is red brick good.
Arizona St. This campus could be built outta cardboard boxes..still..all I saw was a gazzillion gerogeously tanned gals wearing bikini tops and cut-off jeans...mmmm..mmm.mmm.
Mississippi is one beautiful campus..all the orchards and manicured gardens and such..me being the outdoors type..im biased to natural beauty.
William and Mary too..fantastically beautiful.
"Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm." ~ Emerson
In no order.
-West Point - with the river, beautiful
-Virginia - so much history w/Jefferson's influence
-Clemson - nestled up in the forested mtns of SC on a lake
-University of the South at Sewanee - like walking through Eupopean castles on a TN bluff over looking a valley
-UNC Chapel Hill - forested paths made of cobblestones
Texas and IU are way too Uniform for me. All the buildings look exactly the same. Austin is a great city. But UT is a pretty "blah" campus IMO.
IU is all limestone buildings. Again, too uniform for me.
Can't believe no one has listed Georgia. Easily the best campus in the SEC in my mind.
A few others that have been mentioned but are fantastic:
Ones I've been told are amazing:
I see that, but to me they are uniform in a good way. Plus UT has the hottest girls on the planet and I think that has to be figured in.
Come to think of it, UGa is pretty awesome, as is SMU.
But in the end I have to pull for my Alma Mater- Good old Centre College. Sure, it's surrounded by the train yard on one side and you rarely have to put up with the smell of manure wafting in from the stockyards, but it's really got some nice looking buildings now that John Rouche has purtied it up.

Reaper - I gotta disagree on Georgia. It is 3rd or 4th at best in the SEC. I would put Florida & Bama ahead of them, and probably Vandy too.
Washington & Colorado are both great. Washington's football stadium was TERRIBLE, but one end did open to the water & boats which was really cool. The Huskies stadium reminded me of Louisville's old stadium...
