"We have learned Pat Washington will become receivers coach at Kentucky"(ECU WR Coach)
He apparently just took the ECU job in January....
- He is from Mobile like Tee
- Also served as a special teams coordinater at Southern Miss
Here is some more info on him....

So he's a migratory coach...
Where was he before that?
Was offered a job on Ellis Johnson's staff at UNC but chose to go with ECU.
Played for Auburn, from Bama. Has coached at UT & MSU so he understands the SEC and recruiting.
Looks like a decent hire, I guess. Experience by the truckload..

" . During his time in Knoxville, he coached a strong squad of celebrated pass catchers, including Donte' Stallworth, Cedrick Wilson, Peerless Price, Marcus Nash and Joey Kent."
An older guy. Maybe Joker is having a hard time accepting his age...lol
Probably won't be consider a sexy hire but I think he would be a good hire, knows the SEC and has worked with Sanders at Tenn.
I don't always post but when I do, I try to make things interesting
I'm good with that, lets roll!
"Kentucky Football needs to be and will be a championship contender in the SEC."~Mitch Barnhart 11/4/12
Washington can coach but can he recruit? I was hoping for a younger coach but it's hard to argue with the results Washington gets from his receivers.
Has NC ring with UT - check
Has ex-players that have played at a high level in the NFL - check
Understands the SEC - check
Looks good to me.
Probably not the sexy hire some were hoping for, but sounds like a good fit overall.
I think you'll see more of a group effort from the whole staff which in a way, it's better than one man doing it
Only question is, can he recruit?
We need more coaches on Twitter btw. Lack of Twitter is bad business.
That's what I expect as well. Plus this man has ties with a lot of HS Coaches throughout the Country. He's from Bama, played in the SEC, Coached Wr's that won a NC and went on have solid NFL careers.
This is a very solid hire IMO.
very solid hire. As mentioned before, has done great work with WR putting them into the league. Something that would get the current WR's thinking about. Especially Collins, expect him to be HUGE in his first year. Could be very Craig Yeast like if you ask me
I think none of us wouldn't mind another Tee hire but lets be true but somethings, his group was one of the worst in the SEC but he was young, very energetic, and could relate with recruits. I would rather have a guy a bit better at coaching the position but also be as passionate as Tee was with recruiting.
Guy's a native of Mobile, played and coached in the SEC, has ties to south, and has put numerous players in the pros... Sounds like a great hire. Let's hope he can recruit! Overall, seems like a great hire to me.

Agree that he has a lot of experience and ties to the SEC which is a big plus.
He is probably nearing 50 though, do we have anyone on the staff younger than Joker? Must be the oldest staff in the SEC, which is not a good thing, IMHO.
Better hire than Brohm or Parker. Wish he were a bit younger, guess that is the only knock.
I think right now, Joker is going to hire what he believes is a good coach to help, if he does prove to belong and gets to have a long career here, you'll see him go a little younger at some positions but right now, he has to have a mix of both. Last year, everyone was complaining about having a bunch of recruiters and not having any good coaches. I believe as a young head coach, you do a lot of things by trail and error. He has a db coach that understands the dc style of play and now he's getting an more experience wr coach that understands his oc style of play.
