@BBK_Aaron tweets out he has confirmed two UK players are no longer with the team. TJ Jones gone? Any news guys?

read Kory Brown has been critical in his tweets lately, but that is pure speculation
delete if need be
I can't confirm but I've been told for weeks Bookie Cobbins probably wouldn't be back.

Jonathan Reed and Marcus Caffey....
Makes Nate Willis all the more important
Sounding like a lot more than two from what you guys have to say.
But, two is what I've heard.
Jeff Badet said yesterday that Chad Scott told him during his in-home visit that we had only 5 scholarship WRs. I would assume that means Cobbins is gone.
Btw, why would Kory Brown be critical? He's lucky to even have a scholarship since didn't contribute at all last season in spite of all the injuries and true freshmen playing safety.
I'm hearing 4-5 players at minimum will not remain on team.
If we're gonna have add a full class, then this is just the tip of the iceburg.
Like I said, I had someone tell me to expect a full class.
Wouldn't expect TJ Jones back either. Mark Stoops is a new coach. This is how he sets the tone early.
For a full 25 man class to enroll at least 7 players from '12 roster won't be on '13's roster. (That is counting Harmon on scholarship)
I fully expect to see a class of no less than 25. Hopefully, several of the incoming class can redshirt. While we have many immediate needs most Division 1 players can benefit from a redshirt year. If by chance, we miss on a couple of prospects at the last minute on signing day, I do not expect Stoops to sign a "Plan B" player unless that player can be expected to see significant action sometime in the next two years. Instead of signing someone to fill a slot, I think Stoops would hold a scholly or two open for one or two JCs or early grads that might sign next December.
Thus far, two departures appear to be confirmed with three other likely possibilities identified in this thread. Further, grades always claim a victim or two. Others will probably leave (voluntarily or otherwise) after spring practice. If seven is the magic number (as STLWILDCAT indicates), Stoops might even be able to sign the full allotment of 25 and still grant schollies (likely only for a year) to one or more existing walkons. There will likely be room under the 85 limit and scholarships awarded to returning upperclass players count only against the 85 limit and not the 25 limit. There are several deserving kids who have devoted a ton of time and effort to the program. While they may be deserving of financial assistance due to their contributions to the team, they may or may not be deserving of playing time. Nonetheless, this does not negate their contributions on the practice squad.

Not necessarily. There are a few "commits" who may not retain their scholly, which would limit the number of scholly players that would have to be told to move on. there are two sources to trim the fat from.
I think they will get a full class. There are some kids in the program who have been here 3 or 4 years who have never played. Some of those guys should move on and get some financial help as a manager or find a place where they can play. This staff needs the rides for guys to play in their system.
UK will have a full 25 in this recruiting class. A couple won't make grades, and some others will get cut for various reasons, a couple might just leave due to not meshing with the new staff. I wouldn't be shocked if our rosters is around 80 scholarship guys by the time next season starts. Stoops is going to set the tone with discipline that has been lacking since Brooks left, some guys aren't going to like what that means.
I've heard several names, including some that many of us fans had high hopes for, that won't be a part of the team moving forward. I guess we'll know more here soon when the semester officially starts.
Sounds good 80 Proof... This program needs some discipline and life shot into it. Thanks for the info
Steven, is Reed and Caffey speculation? I've seen Caffey's name before from a reputable poster. If so, that really sucks! That dude was our best corner by far at fan day.
Anyone know about the big 6' 11" linemen named Jack? I noticed he is not listed on the roster.
He's still on the roster UK has posted on its site. He's #71. But changed his name to John before 2012 season.
Well it seems as if it is factual. It has been all over twitter, and different UK sports sites. Haven't confirmed though.
Enrollment is today should know by Friday.
Care to elaborate on which players you're hearing about?
Jonathan Reed and Marcus Caffey, we should know for sure before Friday
Just confirmed with UK football spokesperson that DB's Marcus Caffey and Jonathan Reed have been dismissed from program. Those are the only players who have been let go as of this time.
Bring on Nate Willis!! Commitment of Hytchye just got oh so much more important
