He'd just leave and goto bama, if you cloned him. ;)
If a change occurs - Jim Leavitt.
Your team. All the time.
Not a bad idea. I'd want to investigate the locker took situation at usf, but he built a hell of a program from scratch at usf. He can obviously recruit the area.
I'd also submit that he has learned a ton under harbaugh.
The harbaugh coaching tree will be legendary within 10'years.
Pete Carroll. Willie Taggart. Nick Saban.
Is the the realistic candidate thread or the wish list thread?
Clint Hurtt and Shawn Watson from Louisville
Ted Roof and Tom Bradley from Penn State
Luke Fickell from Ohio State
Brent Venables from Clemson
Sal Sunseri from Tennessee
I would like to go after Randy Shannon. Great defensive mind and I think he could get some good recruits.
Clint Hurtt, are you serious?
Randy Shannon, Butch Davis, Chris Peterson(my personal wishlist)
I don't always post but when I do, I try to make things interesting
Could Randy Shannon do it without Clint Hurtt's pocketbook?
Taggart is looking pretty good right now. I don't think he'd leave WKU for us based on principal though. Seems pretty loyal to those guys and why I think he definitely leaves for a bigger job he respects them enough to not end up at UK or UofL.
I don't want Fulmer or Tuberville. I'm still a Leach fan but he'd at the very least need a decent DC to hitch onto his cause if he got back to Lexington.

Between Florida and Kentucky I'd have to think UF has a stronger football program. UF coach was a big name DC that was on most everyone's short list of up and comers for the head job somewhere. So his first HC job was at UF with all the advantages they can supply. And while he's done fairly well it hasn't been to their standards. The point is a new coach without experience that could handle the pressure of learning on the job in the SEC would be hard pressed to be better than Joker. Not saying Joker could withstand the pressure to coach UF but he would look better to us. There's no guarantee their guy wouldn't look like our guy if he was coaching with no support or top of the line facilities to get the best recruits.
We need a guy who's been there.
I think petrino is who we need. Sonny dykes is moving up my list awful fast. He went into Illinois and busted them at there place. Then I'd go with hudspeth. That's my 3 and in that order.
Paul Johnson.....hate it, but that's the wild card
If they do decide to replace joker, I hope they either hire Petrino or rule him out right off the bat, he is circa 2007 the billy d of the tubby replacement search
Hudspeth and Dykes....I dont think we could convince someone like Gary Patterson to leave a place like TCU unless he is just dying to coach in the SEC..
I'd like to see Mitch make a run at Kirk Ferentz at Iowa. They're having a downturn right now, but he had the Hawkeyes very competitive a few years ago. He may be looking for a fresh start. If he can recruit talent to Iowa, recruiting to Lexington would be a walk in the park.
