Any word on how their rehab is going?
Hate to keep bugging y'all but would really like an update on these two guys. I think they, especially Rumph, will be vital to our success this year. Any news? Thanx.
Go ahead and add Lowery to the list... Haven't heard anything about him since his crash.
There was an article somewhere that one gash in one leg (ankle?) was not healing/staples came out and that Stoops visited and was hoping to get him in Lexington under our trainers as quickly as possible to benefit from the close supervision they could give.
The article mentioned that Lowery may be back with the team June/July thank goodness.
Rumph had surgery and if his rehab goes similar to our protocols then he will be back to full go closer to Fall camp. Though he would be conditioning with his legs and core right now. Heavy lifting with the arms is often restricted for 3-6 months depending on what was repaired. He'll be rusty and a little weak in the arms, but he'll make a 100% full recovery and improve as the yr progresses.
What happened with Simpson?
He's doing better but a source inside the program told me last week they're not convinced he'll be able to play this year. They expect him to return to school but he was still scheduled to have another procedure done on one of his legs.
We should probably just redshirt him and move him to LB.
We need Rumph back and healthy. It would be nice to have Lowery back but if he has to redshirt it could end up being a good thing for his development as a player because I think due to his size and speed he needs to be an OLB anyway. Hopefully Faulkner and McWilson will step in at Safety and play well. I'd love to see Faulkner become that AA player we all though he'd be and McWilson looks to be a stud in the making. Good thing about McWilson is he's got the size already to hold up as a frosh in the SEC. He's a beast of a SS.
I just don't see Lowery making it back this year. It would be best for everyone if he RS this year.
Rumph we absolutely need back this year and for him to be healthy and ready to go.
