UK is getting close to the magical 25 limit. For all the recruits still on the board, I have two questions for everyone.
Who do you think (wish) will fill up the remaining spots?
And the other is if the coaches will ask any recruits to delay enrollment (grey shirt I think) like what some other conference foes do iin the case of a guy like Hatcher or/and Samples flips or if the Alexander twins come aboard?
I have thought about this since Meant committed and thought about the scholarship limit and how this will play out, thoughts?
Will bet anyone on here $100 bucks straight up that we oversign this class.
id say it will for sure happen, with only five spots let and a huge list of talent still available.
does anyone know what happens if you oversign? time to research
WE ARE UK
By SEC rules we cant oversign for this class. Can only sign 25. So Ill take that bet
I believe if a player grey shirts they don't count against the limit for this year, Bama and Georgia seem to do it more often, like rollover minutes over and over again.
We have 7 spots still open Jake Boynton will not be here and when u remove him we are at 18 commits. Still room for 7 more.
No, we can't oversign. But we can ask some guys to delay enrollment until January of 2014. They just won't be signed and therefore obligated to attend UK.
i thought we are at 19 with regie meant?
Okay, I believe we have a couple of guys who can count against last years class. Not trying to be smart because I'm not, just trying to interpret the new rules.
SEC rules state 25 signatures. If we ask someone to hold off and grey shirt, they will not be "signing".
Greyshirting isnt allowed under the rule a kid may delay signing like Max Smith did but thats not greyshirting. He would sign an LOI with the next class instead of the current one
We signed a full 25 last year so there are no open signings to use on the early enrollees. Everyone who signs will be counted to the 2013 class
Thanks for clearing that up
Yes but that still counts Boynton. Boynton will not be at UK
TAMU has 34 commitments this year, how do they do it? Serious question, wish someone could explain this.

Everyone answers one question but not the other but they relate to one another.
TAMU only signed 19 kids last year so that lets 6 guys be counted towards last years class. Theyll have 3 kids get offers pulled or not make grades and end up prep or JUCO
Actually im wrong they can back count 8 bc 2 of their commits last year were JUCOs that could be back counted
We can take over 25 commits anytime. Come signing day, only 25 guys can submit a LOI.
edit: or technically 23 on signing day with the two jucos already signing. Then Phillips is obviously a guarantee already being enrolled.

I think we should oversign and dare the SEC to do anything about it. I'm sure we'd win in court if it came to any penalties the SEC tried to slap us with as a result.
If we sign 25, which is fine, that will put us over the 85 max allowed by the NCAA, so, if we do, there will be some that won't return from last years team.. I thought Bodkin and Boynton were both no longer commited. Seems like I read that somewhere. I wouldn't be surprised if one more of the current commits ends up going elsewhere, especially if they feel they're being recruited over at there position. No idea who that may be and no inside info, just a gut feeling.
We currently have 69 scholarship players on the roster, so, if we add 25, then we're at 94 players, meaning a total of 9 players either currently offered or already on the team, would have to go. This 69 doesn't include Harmon either. So, there's definately going to be some attrition that'll have to happen.. You figure 2 or 3 will likely be academic casualties and another 2-3 will likely opt to transfer, still leaving 3-5 players having to be told to look elsewhere. I don't like it, but, this is an unfortunate fact of life in the game of recruiting in a bigtime conference. Teams like Bama, Florida, Ga etc, routinely have to let some go and hurt some feelings. Just the way it is to make the numbers work. Some just happen to be more experienced at it than we are.

maybe justin day? i believe reese phillips is a waste of a scholarship as well.
Phillips isn't as highly regarded as some other QBs we're looking at, but, the kid can play, has good size and arm strength and pretty good wheels. Max Smith wasn't as highly ranked as Phillips is and I think most would concur that Smith can play.. Plus, it seems our most recent 4 star QBs haven't exactly panned out like the hype would have indicated they would.
I believe that A&M got a waiver from the SEC for their recruiting this year.
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I, I took the one less traveled by, and it has made all the difference (Frost).
This is true, a lot of fans are going to start thinking we should be getting higher rated players but sometimes 3* prospects have more talent than those who are highly ranked. Another problem in Kentucky football has also been developing the talent, jokers staff couldn't do it but hopefully we can with the new staff, Dj Eliot molded 3 star defensive ends into sack machines and all ACC players. nonetheless the future looks bright but will take a little time.
