I loved the fight in the guys tonight. But we could have beaten them in regulation. Allowed atleast six easy points near the end.
I totally agree plus their every game problem with free throws almost lost the game
Can we just enjoy beating a quality team? Seriously.
Keep Calm & Stoops On..
I'd hate to be your dog....
And people wonder how our fanbase gets a bad name.
If you watched the end of that game closely, everyone hit their FTs. Otherwise, we lose the game. Mays, Goodwin, Harrow, Kyle, Poy...they all stepped up and knocked them down when it mattered most.
But where's the appreciation of that rather than this kind of criticism in a winning effort over a very good tournament team?
Welcome the new generation of domination.
To be honest, I'm glad it did go into ot. This team needs those success stories. They need to have the positives that comes with hitting 8 straight ft's. they need the 2 coaching points of missing AG at the end of regulation. They need the coaching point of what to do instead of throwing the ball up for grabs and how lucky they were to have a fouled called against Mizzu.
Personally, I feel the team learned more by the game going into overtime. JMO!

When someone starts a thread with only 3 posts, rest assured they are mostly TROLLS trying to stir things up!
I don't know about that, at one time or another we all had 3 posts I'm pretty sure lol
While probably true given the circumstances this team has dealt with I'll take the OT win every day of the freaking week and focus only on the positive.
I actually kind of agree with the OP. I'm elated about the win but we nearly blew it in regulation. When Julius Mays launched that shot with Goodwin wide open 8 feet away from the basket with a good 3 seconds left that was as frustrated as I've been over a basketball game in a long, long time. I thought that right there should have been the game.
The fact that during Mizzou's entire possession I kept telling myself, "Pressey's gonna try to win it with a jumper, if he misses its gonna be a long rebound and possibly a runout the other way with at least 6 seconds left. If our guys are ready we can end it". But I also KNEW the odds of it playing out that way were probably against me. And then it happens and the players all seemed to have been on the same page. We had a 3 on 1. The other guys executed it perfectly. Except Julius. Arguably the smartest guy on the team. I just couldn't believe it. I think he was the only person in the building that didn't see Archie.
But, im still very happy about the win.
Lets put you in the heat of the game and see how you react. Saying one play was the reason we didnt win in regulation is beyond insane...
I would have been looking up that court like they tell you to do in pewee.
Julius played a great game. I was just stunned he made that mistake.
Sure thing boss.
It's really not that big of a deal. Like you said its one mistake of many and that alone isn't why we needed overtime. And Mays had an otherwise great game.
I only posted it do the op wouldn't think he was alone in thinking we probably should have beaten them in regulation.
Overall though I think most of us could agree that it was one of this teams better efforts. Missouri played with desperation. That was one of Pressey's best games and Oriakhis as well. Plus we got them when they were healthy unlike several teams they played during their January slide.
