That's what I think about Te'O. He is the most deserving Heisman Trophy winner I've seen in years. The Heisman is about more than just stats.
“People who live in the past are afraid to compete in the present. There's no future in it.” -- Sparky Anderson
Heres 1 more thing that will upset Widmoon especially, T'eo just won the Maxwell award and you all know what that award is for and like I mentioned earlier T'eo has already won the Walter Camp award as the overall POY in college football. So tommorow night we will know if he is the Heisman winner and if he is then a lot of sweating will be going on. Wildmoon must be getting really nervous because he brought in ADs uni-brow and the 8 inches he grew in HS into the equation and didnt mention the fact that AD didnt have anything to do with the usa team winning the gold medal. Listen Im not bashing AD i love the guy but all I did was put a fun thing to think about in this thread and a couple of people are taking it as an attack on AD. I am ADs biggest fan, and I thought it was just a cool possibility that T'eo might reach the same recognition on the football side of things as AD did in B-BALL. Thats all I was doing with this thread nothing more.

Listening to some in the media you would think Te'o deserves it. I can't think of one play he's made thats stood out this year. Not one pick six, not one sack strip TD, doubt he even plays special teams. I can't warrant a guy winning the Heisman on intangibles because they are unmeasurable. I'd go with Collin Klein over Te'o to tell ya the truth. Hopefully the guys who actually have a Heisman vote will have more sense. Johnny Football IMO did more than enough to make history. He did more than enough to warrant giving the award to a true frosh because he put up the numbers he put up in the toughest division not just the toughest conference in all of college football. The numbers aren't inflated in any sense. Imagine what he would have done in the Big 12 this year. If he doesn't win the Heisman it will be due to the fact that he's a frosh pure and simple.
Oh no, T'eo just won the Bednarik Defensive player of the year award. Well, the next award is the Heisman and if he wins that some people will have to get some Xanax to calm their nerves. I hope you guys know Im just kidding with all this stuff and trying to have a little fun. That may and probably will come to a crashing halt with tommorows nights Heisman announcement. Either way it will be an historic situation with either the 1st freshman or a defensive player winning it. GO BAMA
There has never been a player win the Heisman who played Defense and not Special Teams so yeah it will be historic either way.
The goal line tackle Against USC and the goal line tackle vs Stanford.
As a linebacker you aren't going to make sportscenter too often. But IMO
He's the best player in cfb this year. Jfb is an amazing player but i think te'o deserves it.
Both are worthy.
I think both T'eo and Manziel deserve to win the Heisman but being a defensive player myself when in college then Im a little partial to T'eo but I think Manziel has had an extraordinary season especially since he is a freshman and played against the SECs best and came out a winner in most cases. I know I cant support both but I do and ever who wins will go down in history.
Yeah that argument didn't change my mind. Looks like Te'o could win it though. Lots of people buying the garbage and the Notre Dame name helps a ton. Being the guy that brought Notre Dame back is huge too. Still from a statistical standpoint what JFB has done is AMAZING. He should be the winner.
The award criteria has nothing to do with stats. It's simply supposed to go to the "best player"
I don't think anybody is arguing that Te'o isn't a helluva player. But I still don't see how he has an eerily similar path to Davis' journey, other than they both won a lot of postseason awards.
Matt, thats exactly the point I have tried to make. Maybe I should have stated it differently but both AD and T'eo have achieved a lot in their respective sports. Davis was and is known for his defensive prowess, so is T'eo. Davis won all of the major post season awards in b-ball and so far T'eo has also. AD won a NC and T'eo has the chance to do it, davis was voted MVP of the championship game and T'eo has the opportunity to be named that also. As far as the draft goes AD was #1 and though T'eo may be chosen #1 he will definately go very high and remember the NFL draft is a little different than the NBA draft because of the # of rounds are vastly different between the NFL and the NBA so the emphasis on what position or even round you are drafted in is weighted differently. And finally I didnt imply they grew up alike or came from the same background or as 1 poster implied I didnt say anything about what ethnicity they are. Just having some fun thats all.
I have to repeat what Ive said before that Johnny Football deserves the Heisman and now he has won it. I thought that T'eo would win it but always was pulling for an SEC guy. Congrats to Johnny Manziel and the Texas A&M Aggies. Way to go and now Bama can beat ND and bring the NC to the SEC once again. And yes this means that part of the "similar paths" isnt going to come true but it still is a fun thing to think about.
why do you think i'm upset? I am laughing every time i respond to you.
Not to mention, you never really read my post. Again, him winning POTY has nothing to do with the argument i have made. HAHA,
i think you are thinking about other posters. Obviously, you are the one that is upset thinking that my argument somehow is targeting towards him winning POTY.
Thank you Matt.
He listens to you, not me.
Congrats to BOTH player for being amazing.
Neither has the Unibrow! FEAR THE BROW
Yep and the best player won. But you better believe stats mean something when those stats are historic and they are being put up in the best division in all of college football.

I hate T'eo. If he reminds me of anyone it would be Tim Tebow. As in he's a complete poser fake pos. I'm for ND but I hope T'eo loses. Can that happen?
Now how exactly is that? Please explain how he's a complete poser fake POS? Considering all the things the kids been through I'd say he's completely genuine. You are the Ted Nugent of sports opinion.
