with a career 14-13 record? I don't think so!
I agree about what's wrong with banging a 20ish girl, but when you are paying her.... $20,000 to bang you and give her a job so your employer is your pimp paying for the @ you are banging... I can see getting fired for that.
True or not that has NOTHING and I mean ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the things Petrino was whacked over. Completely ridiculous to drag Joker into a topic like this. Take that garbage elsewhere. Joker is great guy. Petrino is a dirt bag. He deserves better.
The word allegedly is simply an excuse to spread rumors. I could easily say you allegedly _____________ (fill in the blanks with something terrible) and that makes it ok right? SMFH

Exactly. Hiring Petrino is the very definition of "making a deal with the devil". The dude is a royal jackass and really doesn't deserve the time of day. I'd rather lose.
Probably there are more than a few AD's out there don't share your opinion. He will be pursued for high profile jobs towards the end of this 2012 season. Someone will make the deal with that devil knowing full well what they are getting....a first class scumbag who cant be trusted more than an inch. But a scumbag who will win lots of college football games in an entertaining high scoring fashion.
And yes yes yes I know all the justifications and explanations of why it isnt true or accurate or fair....but there are plenty of people out there who say the University of Kentucky basketball program made a deal with the devil a few years ago. Leave the universe of the Big Blue Nation, and how many think that it is only a matter of time before we are caught with NCAA violations, probably a large percentage.
Might be a topic for a larger or more interesting converstation....what is more reprehensible and would make a coach less wanted to be hired: NCAA cheating violations but is a 1st class individual outside of that, or someone who has never been accused or alleged to have violated NCAA rules but is a 1st class sleezeball with no morals off the court/field?
Some other "facts" about Petrino that you left out.
*Caught with his pants down by Tommy Turtleneck while diddling with Bobby Lowder and the Barner contengient.
*Ran a renegade program at UaVel that eventually cost Kragthorpe his job as he tried to clean it up.
*Left the Falcons without warning in the middle of the season.
*Hooks up with a 25 year old in the athletic department at Arkansas.
*Gives her a job as a direct report to him without any consideration of other applicants.
*Gives her a $20K "signing bonus".
*Despite being maybe the most recognizable man in the state, he thinks it's a good idea to take her on a late afternoon Harley ride WITHOUT his helmet on.
*Wrecks, then doesn't want to involve the police.
*Lies about his mistress being on the bike.
*Lies through his teeth to his employer and fan base about the enitre matter, before he is found out.
Bobby Petrino will NEVER be coaching at UK regardless of who the AD is.
All the ethics comments? Really?
Exploitation of athletes
Focus on academics. Right!
Anyway you get my point. So, go cheer them on and get off your morals high horses.
It's not about morals.
Another Petrino indescretion that occurred while he was UL that rarely gets mentioned was his interviewing for the LSU job. This was literally the day after UL had given him a huge raise and contract extension which Jurich lauded as "a lifetime agreement." Bobby was paraded out to the media where he declared his love for UL and the city of Louisville and professed that he had no intentions of looking at other jobs. The very next day, on his way to UL's bowl game that year, he swung by Baton Rouge and interviewed for the then vacant LSU job...
Your comment about the nfl mis a foolish generalization. Most NFL athletes are very good people. In any profression the bottom 5% are idiots.
It's been very interesting to see these responses. There are two main sides here:
1) Having a coach where winning comes before everything and wins consistently, but correct ethical and moral behavior and staying faithful to your family and program is not even considered, or
2) Having a coach that tries to do everything right, disciplines his players when necessaey, but may not always win.
I'm have always been a believer in doing things the right way, staying out of trouble and being a role model to my players. Some of you portray that winning in sports is the important thing in the world (may not think that way, but some of the posts seem that way). While it is nice to win, it's not the most important thing. Would any of you want your son to be coaches by Petrino? Sure, he may teach them football, but a coach is also a suppose to be a role model and offer guidance to his players and Petrino can offer none of that. I would never want my son to be around a coach like that, especially when they are the most impressionable.
Right or wrong, winning IS everything. I'm not sayin I think its right, I'm sayin that's the way the sports world is today. Coaches do not get paid to be good people. Its sad, but very true. There are 5 (FIVE) coaches in the NFL who have been with their teams since 2005. The average tenure of a coach in the NFL is less than a year. Think about that. Its the very same in the NBA.
I wish things like morality, respect, honesty, and integrity meant more than what they do in sports today but unfortunately its all about MONEY. Winning = Money, and all this attributes mentioned above, sadly, just don't have a place in the world of money.
IF he were to repent, I'd be happy for him and wish him all the best, but after all is said and done, I'd want what is best for Kentucky Football first and foremost.... and I don't think Bobby would be the best option for Kentucky.
It is unfortunate that's the way it is. Oddly enough, some don't think that you can win and do things the right way; they can be done at the same time. Now, people just need to realize the balance between those things and do it.
In order to win for any considerable amount of time you kinda have to keep your job. Bobby is in and out faster than Mr. 15 seconds himself.
He'd be fired for misconduct in 2 years or be on to bigger and better things in 3.
Not sure if this has come up yet or not, but just read on Twitter that they're investigating Petrino's text message history. They found 73 made in one day to the girl in question.

What's going on now is not what you call winning. Right now he is considered a failure. It's like being able to score 100 points per game but giving up 101.
Pictures were sent back and forth also according to rumors... I want to see her pictures... his... no, please for all that is right and just no! lol
Petrino texted more in one day than I have in my entire life. But, then again, I'm not having an affair with a 25 year old volley-ball chick...
Makes his sucess all the more impressive. 10+ wins in the SEC while having to text back & fourth with your 25 yr old girlfriend all day every day? Amazing ability to multitask and compartmentalize there Bobby.
Jessica Dorrell's fiance(Josh Morgan) got fired from Arkansas also it seems... He was the director of swimming and diving operations. Gives some credence to the rumor that her boyfriend beat the crap out of Petrino... lol.
