To be honest, I wouldn't know where to begin, Jeff.
Been a Cat fan since August of '92
Wrong. They need and have needed 3-4 "Jokers". The fact that they don't and haven't is exactly why the roster is what it is today.
As for a replacement, it's gonna be a TOUGH sell to get a stud recruiter to up and leave a school for a headcoach that is going to be forced to do the coaching job of his life to save his job.
who does ole miss have right now that is getting everyone to list them? Get him!
better pray next yr is big for joker and co. this to me says alot about what tee thanks of the talent at wr. u think if the young guys were rdy to emerge he would leave. i dont lol. im trying really hard to stay positive but geez. position coaches leave though thats part of the deal joker hires a good wr coach and we come out next yr with a exciting brand of football things will get better. but if its status quo playing conservative football when we dont have the horses next yr could get ugly fast for joker.
I agree that it would be rare, but if you get a kid to commit to you 24-48 hours before NSD based solely on his personal interaction with a coach that leaves two weeks later, the ethical thing to do is honor a release if he asks for it.
That said, I don't know if he wants released. I think we'll have to monitor that situation.

McGriff went from Vandy to Ole Miss. A lot of people have wanted him back in Lexington ever since he left.
Saw someone throw out Craig Yeast's name on twitter.
i no its alot to put on a young kid. but mr towles r mr smith better become 3000 yrd passers quick.
It will have to be someone like Tee was when we got him, i.e. a young, energetic recruiter from a lower tier or mid-major program. South Alabama's staff is doing well in recruiting at their level and they are full of guys with good connections in the same areas...not as good as Tee, but it miht be worth looking there.
As bad as this news is and it is bad if true... Go and get one of the high school coaches from a big time program in the Cincy area.
Isn't he associated with Mumme somehow?
yeast would be interesting he could def teach these guys some proper routes. it does suck but if u r depending on a wr coach whose position left alot to be desired as ky football savior we r in big trouble ne ways. look at every pos coaches resume one yr here two there thats how it goes if u want to move up.
Idealy, Joker should go all out for a great recruiter that also happens to be a Special Teams Coach. Doubt it happens, but that's what the program needs.
GuyMo... Felt he had to go to Baylor with him at the time, wished he hadn't.
Whitlow chimes in...
Dang. Was looking forward to playing for Coach Tee Martin
: He had to do what was best for him and his fam .
ha, I was just about to post that. #tooslow . . .
Sounds like Whitlow is still in. The news about Tee, if true, SUCKS, though.

I'm still #UKAllDay
The sad part about this to me is this- I really think Tee Martin has a bigger name today than Joker Phillips if you go outside the state of KY.

We know that you don't like Joker. . . no need to constantly remind us. . .
My heart just sank to my stomach on this one. This is just a huge loss for our program.
I knew he would leave, I just didn't think it would be to USC and Lane Kiffin. I thought it would just be to another SEC school (obviously UT).
