IMO is horrid this year. Its easily the most overrated conf in America. I sincerely belive that Syracuse is only perceived to be so good because of how "brutal" that conf has been in recent years, not to mention the love affair ESPN has with that conf. Every year they get way too many teams into the dance which is usually proven by how many of their teams are watching from home after the first weekend.
So my question is this;
Obviously the Big Least will once again get too many teams in (not as many as recent tournaments because the Big 10 will take their place with a stupid # of teams in this year) but I really honestly believe that they (big east) could have only 1 team remaining after round 1 (Sryacuse) and NONE remaining after the 1st weekend.
What say you?
not even close...they will have a minimum of half past the first round and at least 2-3 in the sweet 16...i agree they r overrated but they still arent schools from the MAC...these teams can play and if they get 8-9 bids 4-5 at least make it to round of 32 and 2-3 make it to sweet 16
As difficult as it is to watch, the Big Ten is really the only conference in the country that has shown quality depth his season.

Yeah I believe you are right and the Big East is the most overrated conference this year. I think the main reason why they are is because the have such a long history of being the best conference in CBB. Maybe 5 teams make it to the next round but I only see Syracuse and maybe 1 other team making it to the elite 8. JMO
Is that the Big 10 with the 12 teams or the Big 12 with the 10 teams?
Welcome the new generation of domination.
The conference, the ENTIRE CONFERENCE, is averaging 60 points a game, and no...I'm not buying the "best defensive" conf BS.
Sryacuse, Grown, and maybe Grown are the only teams I could see escaping the first weekend. Remember, the Big East has struggled to get more than 2 or 3 teams (out of 9-10) into the sweet 16 in recent past when the conf was much better.
You may be correct but I just think that this conf is extremely over hyped due to its recent depth and quality teams. Look at the top teams outside of Cuse and Gtown in the conf this year, USF...ND...Loservile...do you really see these teams making past the 1st weekend?
Marquette has a solid team to go with 'Cuse and Gtown. I'd put money on Gtown dropping out early bc they have overachieved all season. I don't trust Marqutte, but they have two guys who can carry them over a little run in Johnson-Odom and Crowder.
The big east last year (which was a lot stronger than this year) only had one team make the sweet 16 (or 2, i forget) and that was becasue they played another big east school in the round of 32. They did go on to win it all and i think the conference still had a losing record. I'll take quality over quantity. The SEC should have 3 teams make the 16 and I don't think the BE will have more than 2.
Drive for 8!
Syracuse, Marquette, gtown, Louisville, uconn, Norte dame...can all make it to the sweet 16 not sayin they will just that they can wit the right matchups same as Bama or miss st wit the right match up can...these teams r overrated cause of the bias towards the big east but they aren't bad teams because these so called experts overrate them...I also think no other conference would have a team go 9-9 and be ranked 9th in conference and be good enough to win a national championship
Overrated, definitely. Horrid? I think that's extreme. Time will tell, though. Did any team other than UConn ou tof their absurd 11 bids get to the 2nd weekend last year? I'm thinking no, but I may be forgetting one or two.
ive been screaming since last yr they r overrated they proved it in the tourney. of course all there tms have high rpis and sos. they donot drop when they lose period if none of your tms drop after consecutive losses your going to have a stronger rpi and sos than other conf.
Marquette made the sweet 16.
The problem with the big least is that they can't shoot from outside. As a conf they are horrid.
Cuse has played the top big least teams at home. And I am sorry but who in the big least could even give UK a game. ?????? 9 get in 1 will get past the sweet 16. Maybe Cuse for the 4th time in 23 yrs.
Of course the BE is overrated. They will have only Cuse make it to the Elite 8. Marquette or Gtown might make the sweet 16. UL, Cinci, ND, Uconn are all borderline teams that will lose the first weekend.
I would not trust the Big East come tourney time I don't care how many teams they get into the tournament.
I think Syracuse, Marquette and Georgetown are good teams. After that, there's a big drop off.
