And it's going to drive me crazy all season knowing that if this team was maybe a year older that we'd have a real shot at being right in the thick of it. Now please don't take this as me dismissing this season or bashing Joker (anything but). I'd be stupid giddy if these guys perform out of the gate. We're just so painfully young across the board that I can't help but feel that we'll hit some bumps as a result. Damn that 2009 class.
It'll be interesting to see who steps up in the East this weekend. Is it now Georgia's to lose? Does Florida finally get something going under Muschamp? Does Mizzou come in and make a big splash in their first season? Thoughts?

After USC and Vandy looked tonight its up for grabs. We will see how Georgia looks but they have to be the favorite after watching USC.

It's Georgia's to lose at this point. The only caveat is the only two teams to play a game are Vandy and SCar. The only way to get a read on the other 5 teams is on paper. So it's hard to tell.
As for Mizzou, I think they're in for a rude awakening. The Big 12 is good and all, but the SEC is a different animal. I think they might have a difficult time playing SEC defenses weekly. I could be wrong though.

Although I think there is only so much you can glean from tonight's game, I tend to agree with this statement.
It does suck. It's seems we are always a day late and a dollar short though. If Joker can continue recruting and building depth though, there will finally come a time when the East is down, and we're ready to take advantage.
Its Georgia's to lose but it wouldn't surprise me at all if they lost it.
I would just like someone to explain Spurrier's play calling. Even before Shaw went down, it was terrible. Good thing they have a good defense, but with that offense will they be able to hold up.
I will give Franklin credit for having his kids ready to play hard, but I dont see what everyone is so pumped about. Vandy was handed this game and couldnt win it at home.
As long as Shaw can get healthy, SCar will be fine. Their O was very limited last night due to his shoulder injury. And, I'm not sure Lattimore is 100% yet, despite his 110 yards and 2 TD. I think both teams played like it was the first game of the season under the glare of national TV. Both showed glimmers of big things to come.
UGa will look great against a very bad Buffalo team. I'll be surprised if the starters play beyond a series in the second half. Ditto for Florida. Very anxious to see how UT looks against an improved NC State squad tonight. The Vols are always dealing with distractions and overcoming an awful HC.
UK has a chance to put the SEC East and the college football world on notice with a win on the road against a top-25 team picked to win their conference, albeit the Big East. Cannot wait for Sunday. Go Big Blue!!!!

"Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm." ~ Emerson
As I said in another thread, they're really hurting for that Alshon-esque playmaker at WR and it showed last night. They really need Ellington to step up in that role if they don't want to run Lattimore into the ground and keep Shaw healthy as well.
I think I cringe everytime that kid tucked and ran last night.
As for Georgia, since they've been in the the thick of the Fulmer Cup all off season I'm interested in seeing how they look in their first game out. I'm not sure if I buy the hype or that Richt can keep the lot of them out of trouble long enough to get back to the SECCG.
Mizzou is also really young on their OL now with I believe 2-3 starters going down in camp (man where have we seen that before) and with Franklin recovering (reportedly completely recovered but until contact who knows) from that shoulder surgery they could be in for a rough go of it as well.
Then of course you have Tennessee, but it seems like Dooley still has the inmates running the asylum in Knoxville.
There will certainly never be a dull moment in conference this season.
Tennessee had a pretty good showing against NC State last night. Looks like Cordarrelle Patterson is the real deal.
Your team. All the time.
Definitely didn't look anything like last year's team.
Patterson is a FREAK!!
And Florida looks atrocious. Muschamp's seat getting hot already?
USCe's offense wasn't looking good before the injury. UGA didn't look good against Buffalo today. UF definitely looked bad. Vandy didn't impress me. UT looked good, but against who? It was a Mike Archer defense. . Then mizzou is hurting on the OL, which is terrible for your first year in the SEC. I wouldn't be surprised to see us in the top 3-4 of the East. The D is that good, i think.
Foolishness in making statements that UK is better or as good as UGA, USC, UF and any team before they have even played a game.
Lets beat Louisville before we start talking SEC East's teams.
The meanest dog in Taiwan.
It's only the first week, but the East looks awful.
