Mike Hughs (site administrator) is claiming tonight that UL officials are quite certain that an ACC invite is coming as soon as this week after weekend discussions. Would be the most insane thing ever IMO. Again, just kick me in the nuts.
Wonder what the bow tie, navy blazer, and chardonay brass of the ACC will think of the UL "base"? LoL

Makes sense considering that there are reports that the top 4 members are getting out this week. Unc going to the big 1 , nc state, va tech going sec and fsu going to the big xii.
The acc would basically be a basketball conference.
I'll believe UofL going to the ACC before I'd ever believe UNC leaving.
I do not really see how this changes much for U of L. They were always in a basketball super conference and a so so football conference. I believe they are in the exact same position.. and they continue to jump into situations where the ground is crumbling beneath them. ACC wont be the ACC in a few years....
Also saw on 247 Rumors board that UVA would be going to the B1G with UNC, which will give them 16. Va Tech and NCSU will give us 16. Halfway to the 4 16 team conf. or Super 64.
I could see going to 4 4 team divs and doing a 4 tm playoff for conf champ. I know the NCAA doesn't allow it, but I could see the confs. forcing their hand or just telling them to stick it and doing it anyway.
What would be funny if that happens is Notre Dame just got to the ACC...would they have to pay $50M to get to the Big 10 where they belong???
They will be fine with it as long as all the checks clear that the UL faithful wii pay for all of the new ACC/UL gear they will sell or the rights to make that gear.

Is it just me... or does every conference turn to shit after the Cards join?
Think about it.
I actually went to the UL game this weekend and saw something I've never seen before. UL fans, in masse, actually booed a injured Ucon player when he got up and was OK! Talk about class!
I saw /heard that too.
If your serious I just cant see UNC going anywhere, they are already in the best conference by far when all the dust settles after Syracuse,Pitt and ND gets there., and this concerning B-BALL.
It's not about best. It's about $$$$
UNC will neaver leave the ACC it is the ACC. Like Bama and UK are to the SEC.
Both teams yeild a huge win for the conf in diff sports.
Lville will go where it has too. there football program is up and down like RPitino on a table.
The ACC is about basketball and that is where they would thrive.
I agree that UNC will never leave the ACC just like Duke would never leave it either. I dont have a problem with UL going to the ACC because again your correct that the ACC is a b-ball conference and Louisville has always been a b-ball school, but the f-ball program at UL has improved quite abit in the past few years and may well benefit with the move to the ACC again quite abit.
The new ACC is the old Big East. LOL.
Guys its about money. It isn't about perserving rivalries or trying to create some great basketball conference.
