Show him some support, guys. I don't care that he's on Louisville. As a person, he deserves support and good thoughts sent his way. Speedy recovery, big fella !
Keep Calm & Stoops On..
Agree! Hate to see it happen to anybody. Hope the kid can recover and play basketball again.
Anyone got video of it? I missed what happened...
Yeah, it's not great video quality, but there isn't much else out there on it. One of the worst things I've ever seen from a simple block shot attempt...
Prayers with Ware!
Louisville's player Kevin Ware breaks his leg on terrible fall! This could possible be one of the worst injuries in basketball. Prayers go out to him and his family.
Welcome the new generation of domination.
Be strong Ware. Hope for quick recovery.
Prayers go out to the kid. Easily the worst injury I've ever seen. I hope he plays again someday.
The Prothro injury at Bama in football a few years ago was similar, but worse in that they were picking up pieces of bone in the endzone. That said, Ware's today was easily the worst I have ever seen in basketball.
Prayers out to Ware and his family. Man I've been watching games for 50 yrs and can't ever remember a basketball injury that looked that gruesome. It's no wonder all those players were reacting the way they did. Again, hope he fully recovers.
Go to Yahoo.com and you can see a slo mo of it. Viewer discretion advised.
Its so bad I'm now rooting for Louisville to take this thing home for him.
Prayers to him for sure. Hope he comes back stronger.
I felt so bad. I thought it was bad with Nerlens with the way his knee bent, but watching that game with my family and seeing that, It was disgusting and probably the most gruesome injury I've seen in a game. I feel really bad for Ware, and hope for a more speedy recovery than expected. What I did like though is how UL reacted to it. You could see the emotion of the team, because Ware was practically one of their brothers. Russ Smith it looked like was even crying. It was nice to see that, and now I really hope UL wins the National Title for Ware.
Now it's gonna be the 2nd worst injury you've seen
Cage fighter gets his leg broken. That's gotta hurt
One of the worst sports injuries I've ever seen gave way to one of the most powerful sports moments I've ever seen in the way the Louisville players responded.
You could hear Rick Pitino as Ware lay on the floor yell to the other players, "he wants to talk to you!" Gave me a lump in my throat.
Yeah Chris, you could see Ware turn his head to look at his teammates out on the floor, yell something to them and then they all went running over and huddled over him. Powerful moment when with all of the pain and emotions he wanted to talk to them.
Prayers go out to Ware and his family. The Cards will take the trophy back to Louisville this year. I foresee the Cards turning their next two games into track meets.
Damn you, Brad!
That was bad, but the way Ware's just buckled in two looked worse than that. The. The fact CBS showed is bone sticking out made it worse.
Godspeed Kevin from a Cat fan. Already been reported your surgery was a success. That's great news. Here's hoping to see you holding ONE more Championship trophy in a week. Bring it home Cards!!! My family is all in with the Cards this year! Can't wait to see you at Rupp next year and I have a feeling that Big Blue Nation will shower you with a memory for the rest of your life. A great one. Gold Standard memory. God bless to you & your family.
I really can't stand that happening to this young man. He was making a jump into the next level of player for UofL and then something like this happens; similar to what happened to Noel (just more gruesome). I heard the doctor say he will be able to play again which is great news. I think this UofL team is the team of destiny this year; much like UK was last year. They have bounced back from a 3 game skid in the middle of a season; then got hot in the BE tourney, and now peaking in March. I do not think there is a team left that can and will beat them.
From Coach Cal this morning:
@UKCoachCalipari I went to mass this morning and said a blessing for Kevin Ware. I hope the Big Blue Nation joins me in praying for the kid.
We recruited many of those players and they're all good kids. They worked hard & deserve to be where they are, let's wish them well.
I am happy to see that he posted this and there have been some great comments on his facebook post this morning.
I couldn't watch the replay. The instant reaction of the UofL bench told all I needed to know. Prayers for successful recovery
I had to come over and say thank you to all of the uk fans for supporting our team and the prayers and wishes for Kevin Ware. Truly great sportmenship and I thank all of you. Not an easy thing to see but let's all rally together and hope that the Cards can bring home the championship trophy for Kevin and keep it in our great state!
Quality post and great support cats fans! Thanks!

He will get back on his feet, good luck to the Cards. They will have to nail that tibia and lock it proximally and distally, just like Michael Bush. He will recover well. Have to admire the comments he was making to Pitino and the team while laying on the sideline over there. Tough, tough kid.
I keep getting more inspired by the situation the longer it goes. Very insteresting. Came out of left field. Something I did not expect.
Absolutely a tough kid. Reportedly he yelled to his teammates "go win the game!". A truly poignant moment. Smith and Pitino were wiping tears. Get well soon kid and come play us at Rupp next year. You'll get a standing ovation! Gotta support the Cards.this year. They completely dismantled Duke. Siva was masterful and their defense was awe inspiring. UK in 2012, UL in 2013, UK in 2014 and 2015 (so far), the Commonwealth reigns!
For something like that to happen to a kid and yet all he's thinking about is his teammates and winning the game speaks volumes about what kind of kid he is IMO. Never seen anything like that.
