If we win out and end up in a tie with Florida for the regular season, what is the tiebreaker since the series would be a split? Or is it just a co-championship? Obviously someone would have to be seeded 1 in the tourney....
Here you go:
Thanks. I guess they share the regular season title then.
There is a series of tie-breakers to determine seeding for the tournament.
The first tie-breaker is head-to-head if it's two teams ... which we would obviously split under your scenario.
From there, the remaining tie-breakers are records against the conference leaders going down in order of finish for the regular season. So after the first head-to-head split, you would start comparing records against the 3rd place team, 4th place team and so on down the line until you can break the tie.
So, there's no way to determine tie-breakers right now because we don't know the final order of the remaining standings. I ran down through some scenarios the other day and if we do end up tied with Florida, we want Missouri to finish 3rd because that would be the first scenario where UK would get the tie-breaker over Florida.
Of course, this year more than usual, you might want to take into consideration possible tourney matchups before deciding whether you'd rather be a 1 seed or a 2 seed in the tourney.
Would we rather be in a bracket with the 4, 5, 8 and 9 seeds ... or the 3, 6, 7 and 10 seeds?
I loved the bracket where we were 3, bama 2. Tenn and fla were up top. We were waiting on winner of ark v two cellar squads. Way too many teams bunched up to even guess right now on matchups.
I just want to win today's game. Then we can think about seeding, lol.
Great game going on between bama and the gators.
