I know Dotson doesnt have said agenda, in fact his "agenda" is being tired of all the "agenda" stuff. Look let's not turn it into that today bro. Todd complaines alot and obviously let's his emotions overcome his reasoning ability on here IMO, but please let's not start this agenda crap in thi thread.
Yeah, don't understand all the hate for Arkansas, they are a program that is truly on the rise coming off one of their best seasons and returning alot of players. Yeah they have the coach thing going on, but to act like Miami of Ohio might have swooped in and grabbed one of our guys is borderline ridiculous.
My agenda is trying to fix all these people who have an agenda of taking on all these people with agendas. Wait a minute, did I include myself in that group?
***class clown rolling through trying to get everyone to lighten up on a Friday night***
We have beaten out teams like Fla st. an Clemson and Miami recently for prospects guy. Yes, we will lose our share of those battles, but to act like as soon as programs like that get involved its over, is flat out ridiculous. Then there is the fact that Alabama recruits nationally and out of 25 guys they sign, they get them from all over the U.S. don't try and amplify your point with bullshit, it's easy to smell. Please list these 30 + programs that are coming into Florida and signing all 25 (or less) of their guys from that state. Dude, your fable attempts of debating this topic are laughable. There are a handful of schools that are unbeatable on the trail that are making a living in Florida and Georgia and even they are not getting all their guys from there. To act like we are going into a depleted state and getting some garbage leftover players from those states is again, ridiculous, but that seems to be your calling card.
It's been said time and time again, a freakin two star player in Florida would be a three star player in Ky. in most cases. This isn't an exaggeration. You have absolutely no argument here.
Did you really just use two players that we signed to prove your point about players we are NOT signing??? Wow.

It's funny how 2 years ago "Instate recruiting" was a big deal to everyone, now that we can't sign anybody (because Joker's job is on the line) some have changed their tune... Yea i'm the liar. Almost everyone on here has talked about how important it is to be able to recruit daville... Now some of you guys are acting like i'm sitting here making this crap up... Blame me, it's all my fault... I'm going to give about 10 of you guys what you want, i'm done. It sucks to get on here everyday and here BS excuses why we are here and everyone else is there. Some (I said some) of you guys are the very reason the program is where it is... It's ok to take 14-2 stars, 9-3 stars and 2-4 stars eventhough the other weakest teams in the SEC Mizz, Vandy or Ole Miss are landing high 3 and 4 stars players in mass... Mizz even got the number 1 player in the country but oh yea, we should beat them... All those pre-season mags are wrong, those so called "experts" are stupid too, i'll take Joker's opinion over everyone elses in the country eventhough the "experts" live on the camp circuit... Yes will win a SEC title by projecting... Yea right, my last post...
Agreed. They have been good lately. Very good, and they have a good history. I remember watching them (live) stomping the tar out of aTm when I was a kid. I had an older sister graduate from aTM back around '79 or '80...
Why is his offer list so small?
I said 30 teams because everyone, I mean everyone in the country recruits FLA and GA and guess what our classes are always somewhere in the 40's or worse, so I was being alittle conservative... I should have said 40. Yes we recruit maybe 5-10 kids from other states, like TN and South Carolina alittle BAMA but for the most part there are 40 plus schools a year recruiting in the deep south and we very seldom beat them out on kids like Timmons, Chapman or Towles... Yea we have 1 kid Bell with major offers, Hyde could play for anyone but he's loyall because of one reason and we all know what it is... Don't tell me we get top 40 players at every position because we don't, you need to stop lying to yourself. I'm done, I promise if you'll let it go i'll never get on here again...
LOL. Dude chill out. Liar? Did anyone even call you that? Stop throwing little girly fits and debate the points at hand. No one is saying that we need to completely ignore Kentucky, and Joker isn't doing that. The point is some of these kids have NO interest in UK and have made it clear. What I was saying is that to change this winning is the only thing that will work. To win, we need to recruit better players. To recruit better players, we need to go into the states where these players are. You falsely said there are over 30 teams coming in and getting all the quality players from states like FL and GEorgia, and made it seems like we would be better off taking whats left in our state. This is not true, I called you on it. You threw a fit. That's pretty much the run down so far guy, where do you want to take it from here??
I disagree, to a certain extent, especially when it comes to offensive and defensive linemen. The requisite strength to play these positions isn't something that a kid always has until he has been in the program a few years.
However, mine wasn't a post to say anyone is going to suddenly become all-SEC. It was more a post about calling out current UK players (including a potential starter) by name as not good enough. I don't think that kind of thing is warranted, necessary, or right.
You wouldn't want someone posting, by name, about your kid being not good enough in school on a public message board, and I think we can accord at least that much respect for the kids in our program.
Ok Todd do you are saying we need to devote more time to players in our state who have NO interest in coming to UK?? Then what's underneath them?? Nothing!!! Where is your logic at pal?? What are you even saying at this point? You haven't made a point in three posts other than slam our program?!?! Debate the points at hand. Let's hear the 30+ teams that make their living in Fl and Georgia that we cannot recruit against. We seem to have gotten plenty of really good players out of Georgia with nice offer sheets and a couple from Fl as recently as last year. Waiting on that list.....
Ok Todd let's hear the Caffey, Dupree, Taylor equivalents that we should h ave went after but didn't in Kentucky??
You realize I made that list very conservative to give you a chance to walk out of here with your pride in tact right?
Please stop making up false narratives to support your position. This tactic is easily refuted and destroys any tenuous point you might have made in your previous posts. Pretending that people have said something that hasn't actually been said or implied doesn't strengthen your argument.
In-state recruiting is still necessary and Timmons hasn't signed with anyone yet. Bivins is going elsewhere, and the Trinity kids aren't likely to give UK a look. If we sign Hyde and Timmons from the state, I'll call that an acceptable job, but nothing special. If Timmons doesn't sign, it's a miss for us. But there's no reason to go into histrionics about it. I think everyone would prefer to keep each and every highly sought-after player from Kentucky at home, but it isn't likely to happen. Not even Alabama, Florida, or Georgia do that.
I think the gist of the other posters is that building a relationship to a talent-rich state like Florida will pay more dividends than concentrating on the one or two (or three) in-state kids who are big time. You are free to disagree with that statement, but it doesn't make anyone's opinion less valid.
No-one has said that recruiting is perfect, or that it doesn't need to be improved, or that they are perfectly satisfied with each and every recruit committed to UK so far.
Nicely put. But I can assure no valid point was made by that guy prior to his tirade. Ever.
Tampa two!!!!! LOL
I truly have no idea what your tryin to say...
In one post you say we can't win because we aren't getting our in state guys...BUT, in this post your talking about 14 2*'s, 9 3*'s, and 2 4*'s......ok. Guess what, if we got 90% (on average...this year was one of KY's best years ever for HS talent) of instate guys we would have fewer 3* and 4* players than you just listed.
I absolutely agree that it sucks to lose the few highly raked instate kids tp other schools but if you truly think that we will/can build a winning SEC program from instate talent your completely delusional.
Another thing to think about with these instate kids is that some of them want to get out of the state of ky for their college experiences. Example: Lamar Dawson.
Some of their decisions are simply about getting out.
Haha!! He quit making since after his second post pretty much.
As for the rest of what you said, spot on as usual. I will add this (again), if we want these top players to be drawn here then we need to win. To win we need better players. For better players, we need to live in Florida and Georgia. That's how we get these players to not go to the big boys, that's the only way. And then there is the occasional Dawson type that just wants a different experience.
Guys, the very vocal minority like tommy can not be reasoned with. The only reason I engage these senseless posters is because I don't want newcomers to this board to think this garbage is what most fans on here think.
By passing judgement on a player like eatmon, a guy who sat behind 3 seniors and one of the more highly touted lineman we have signed in previous years proves that this guy has no clue.
This thread has become as pathetic as JJ's thread trying to get everyone together. No wonder I quit posting as much. Some of y'all need to switch to decaf. That means a lot coming from me....
It smells like microwaved homeless people in here.
Timmons will be a Cat.
Wait a minute....I cannot be reasoned with?
It 's true that Kentucky has low numbers in regard to recruits but you have to get the one's from Kentucky that are of SEC quality. I know I am old skol but I remember a time not to long ago when if you were Kentucky kids, grew up a Keentuckian, you went to UK period. Now I know times have changed but to just give up in your home state and spend all our time in Georgia and Florida doesn't seem to be the answer either.
I have said this before and I will say it again. Not since the time Fran Curci coached at UK has UK went out of its way to be part of the high school coaching community. UK coaches used to come by my highschool football practices all the time when I played in the late 60's. UK coaches used to put on football clinics for free explaining strength and nutrition and how it helps in football. curci used to invite entire high school teams to games from all over the state.
uk has to win these recruiting battles in kentucky year in and year. if kentucky produces 4-5 4 star players a year and they all were kentucky bound, 5 years from now they repreent 25-30% of your team. that should e the goal.
The meanest dog in Taiwan.
Tommy, can you fix your computer so you can get back to ukfootballfirst boards? Thank you.
I really hope your right bro. If we can land Timmons and Edwards then surely that would make even the most negative of people some what happy with this class as we would have had success in FL, OH, and instate. My question is this, if Joker and Co. did land Timmons and Edwards giving us the 3 key areas that most are always talking about, will Joker finally get some much deserved credit for the recent improvement on the recruiting front? Or will Texas, Cali, and some other area become the new reasons we can't get it done?
I don't even think he tries. . . haha
