Yeah I wonder why our compliance officer isnt hangin out with them too. I never said Uk was in trouble....yet....Why are you so defensive? I mean, Im sure its completely normal for a teams compliance officer to tag along while the NCAA looks into how travel expenses for a top rated recruit were paid for. KInd of think it's funny that here Peyton Sivas dad was on facebook asking anybody for a ride to New Orleans last season....yet Anthony Davis parents were in the stands every single Uk game. They must be pretty loaded. Strange.
Look all you lil dirty birds can hope and pray that UK is going to get in trouble. I understand its hard on you guys knowing that Cal has done more at UK in 3 years than Ole Ricky has done at ul in 11.
Honestly I could care less. Yes its a lot easier to accomplish more with a number 1 class every season and 5 or 6 first round draft picks...no mater how you get them We'll just leave that discussion for November. It's football season. One beatdown at a time kids. One at a time...
Yep one beatdown at a time. Can't wait to see the UK volleyball team beat the crap of the dirtybirds again on Wednesday.
Funny you bring up womens volleyball. Your kitties have lost like 8 of the last 10 years to UofL in that sport. It was so bad your AD tried to cancel the series in that sport too. Just like youre going to try and do in football again before Teddy and Co go 4-0. You remember the two baseball games last season when we won both with a ridiculous combined score of like 23-2? That was pretty funny. Wonder if you all will try to cancel that series too?
What do you do with your life dynasty? Do you sit at home all day just waiting to see if one of us responds to your ridiculous posts? Do you have a family? Do you go to school? Maybe you're a well-respected business, I don't know, but whatever the case, you must have a pretty pathetic life to make you venture on over to another team's message board and rant and rave about stuff that is really remedial in the grand scheme of things. Jeez, grow up man and quit making yourself look like a fool.
Been a Cat fan since August of '92
Funny the volleyball team has won the last two. Last years match was a beatdown.
Guess Jurich is trying to cancel the basketball series since you guys have lost 7 out of the last 9.

This thread gets side-tracked for about 2 pages every 3 pages.
7 of the last 9 in basketball, 4 of the last 5 in football. Geez I guess I'd be on your board if the roles were reversed.
What exactly is the "uofldynasty" in? Is it in football? Nope, Is it in basketball? Nope.
I've already asked that question but didn't get an answer.
Agree. My Cardinal buddy must be itching for a ban LOL. If you take away that part of his comment though he brings up a good point. If you ask any fan who the compliance director is of the team they root for they would have no idea. Sandy Bell rolls off the tongue very easy here because he/she??? is called upon so frequently here that his/her name is always mentioned.
I'm a Louisville fan (duhhh) and I have no idea the name of ours. I'm pretty sure that's the case of most college fans.
Recruit better and you might get to learn their name. It comes with the territory when you're recruiting the best of the best. That really make no difference though. We're big brother U so everything we do is put under a microscope. I'll bring up this point. Don't you think if Cal was cheating they'd do everything they possibly could to catch him in the act? Yep you know they would yet he hasn't been caught. Riddle me that.
When you've had 2 programs in the last 30 years with major probation - then you need someone like Sandy Bell. All the schools currently facing sanctions and probation should learn from our mistakes and our compliance adjustments.
You should be screaming for your Compliance Directors head. How many of your BB and FB recruits have been ruled ineligible by the NCAA last few years? You can rag on UK all you want, but I'm glad someone is as involved and on top of all things compliance related as Sandy Bell is for UK. If UL had someone as capable, you might have been able to get more of your BB and FB recruits qualified. Why wouldn't you want a person to go to bat for your programs and players against the NCAA?

I believe ours is doing a fine job as well, those that didn't meet qualifications, we didn't play them which is probably the main job of a compliance director no? We have also been NCAA infraction free. Both are doing a good job however Sandy is having to remain in the news more so I think because of Cal.....not sure I hear much about Sandy in football season?
Mrs. Bell and UK are bring proactive in this case. They saw how the NCAA handled the Kanter case and others around the nation. They dont trust the NCAA and who can blame them.
I think there are several factors resulting in why Sandy Bell happens to be a household name to UK fans. For starters..
1. We are Kentucky.
Rather than list all the accolades we have received, I will point out the media coverage, local and national of everything that is Kentucky basketball. Please note that this is not to take away from Louisville, a storied program in its own right. I grew up a Wildcat fan but rejoiced when Louisville beat Duke (Jeff Hall was from near my hometown of Ashland) and who can forget Dr Dunkenstein (in fact, while at the gym for the USN base I work at, a man noticed my UK bag and it turns out he was from Louisville and we had a nice discussion). But, right now, Kentucky is plastered on the news when it comes to NCAA basketball due to its recent success alone. Every scrap of information in the off-season is gobbled up and regurgitated by the journalists.
2. We have been found guilty of wrongdoing on more than one occasion.
The results of Eddie Sutton and Mumme years hit the University very hard. Everyone remembers the title "Kentucky's Shame". Past transgressions have made UK the prize target for countless "journalists". Can anyone say Thamel? For instance, I believe Davis received some of the NCAA questioning that they do to all major recruits to keep tabs on things. Journalists went crazy with articles regarding a routine questioning and said nothing when recruits to other schools were questioned (IIRC, a USC or UCLA player?).
3. The administration has made it very clear they wish to not repeat such transactions and have taken public steps to ensure we don't.
There are all kinds of crazy rules that the teams have to follow, including limited coverage of football practices and even summer camps for the football team. They place Sandy Bell in the middle to micromanage situations that may adversely affect the program. IIRC, she has even traveled with the BBall team to the SEC tournament. She is a highly visible compliance officer who makes it difficult for boosters and agents to contact players. The institution has taken steps to ensure they do not get hit with a loss of institutional control. They run a very tight ship.
When these things are put together, you have the media scrapping for every bit of information about Kentucky, many journalists looking to make hit pieces or to have the scoop on a problem at Kentucky, and Sandy Bell placed in the middle of every proceeding as a (very deliberately) visible representative of the University.
But, she does more. Although one can ideally hope that the NCAA is impartial and only truly concerned about fairness and working for the student athlete, reality says otherwise. Not only does she represent the interests of the University but she also represent those of the players. She helps them sort out their own agendas with respect to eligibility and qualifications and works to prevent them from being unfairly treated by NCAA. She isn't just a talking head to represent the University with respect to big name players, she puts a lot of work into helping many others clear their hurdles.
I do not see it as some sort of mark against the University that she is a known figure.

All 3 points are spot on. Couldn't agree more. And it should surprise no one that her name has been mentioned with Noel simply because he reclassified.

I came here to discuss the football game and the players that will be on the field sunday. With the weather trending towards heavy rain looks like it will be closer game then vegas thinks.
I don't really want to comment about UK's baskball recruiting but I guess I will. Do I think UK cheats? NO. If Phil Night and William Wesly were recruiting players for my team would I be mad? NO. Do I think the first person Anthony Davis ran up to and huged after the NT game should have been Phil Night, another Nike exec, and World Wide Wes instead of his mom and dad? NO. But it obviously show how players like MKG, Wall, Davis, Cousins, and so on end up playing for Cal. Cal went to 4 strait NIT's in CUSA before William Wesly brought him Wagner. Has Cal won less than 30 games since Nike and WWW started feeding him 5 of the top 30 players in the nation every year? NO UK will be down this year from their standards in basketball but will have the Harrisons, Wiggins, and possibly Randel coming in in 2013 and I fully expect another title with those 4 playing together. maybe we can win one in between.
It was a long ride home from NOLA after watching our team take 20 more shot attempts then our rival in the final 4 and LOSE.
Now back to football......
