Strong to TENN a done deal!! OVER
This is getting out of hand, really, UofL and Tenn in a bidding war for a coach who may just be average
I don't always post but when I do, I try to make things interesting
You guys are assuming these reports are true.
Butch jones was rumored to be in this exact same situation with uk. (Reportedly). Problem is, it wasn't true and butch jones was never offered the job.
I think if he was offered UT then Strong goes. He has zero ties to UL and is an SEC guy. It would make sense to move up.
It's been an arms race in the SEC this off season. I can't remember this much fun watching the names on the doors change. Go back one week before any hire so far and no one has really come close to knowing what was truly going on. Maybe the Auburn hire could have been guessed, but you would still hear BP up until the day before.
I have heard that the snag is that UT does not want Clint Hurt to come with him (Strong). UT is afraid of his past and that could lead to some real problems in a SEC program that gets way more NCAA scrutiny than a program like Louisvilles'. It kind of lets you know that there is some shady dealing going on in the Louisville program, and as long as Hurt is in the house, the possibilities for that being true are endless.
Kinda funny that the writer who is always digging into Kentucky recruits is always breaking Louisville news.
Charlie Strong is staying at Louisville, according to a Louisville source. Strong received a contract offer from Tennessee on Wednesday, but declined it after pondering the decision for a few hours.

Mann....this is making me dizzy!!
Thamel Toe strikes again!! Strong say "NO" to huge UT offer.
Does it really matter, either way if it's fact or fiction. Guy getting a raise that I'm hearing is overkill. They are acting like he won the national championship there. At least we can enjoy the news with fun
I hate them both..but what kind of moron turns down the SEC to stay at Louisville when you have no ties there? With Stoops at UK he will be second fiddle in KY before you know it. I hate Tennessee...but wow...he must be terrified to run with the big dogs...
Strong remains a card...... It's on espn and everything.
Yep he is staying but lied to them the whole time.
man that sounds familiar.....
Ole Butch is going to Colorado just heard he accepted the job. Lot of people had him coming here, funny how things turn out. Oh by the way does anyone know who Petrino signed on to coach?
Really, Butch Davis to Colorado? I never would guessed that. Such a hot name in a lot of searches early, with all the jobs open that he seemed he could of gone to, I would of guessed he stayed where he was then go there
Truecat, there is also a report that he hasnt accepted the job yet, but it was reported onESPN so assumed that what they reported was true. Sorry about that, I will be more informed in the future but I usually trust ESPN and their reporting.
Butch Jones, actually.
Keep Calm & Stoops On..
You guys should hear some of the Tenn. fans, bunch of them still claiming they'll get Gruden. I feel sorry for them in a way. Total meltdown from there fanbase
You really think that? Ha ha! When?
Why do you even peruse our boards? Just leave already...
Been a Cat fan since August of '92
Even though I think its pretty damn funny why is everybody turning UT down?
Just tell you how far they have fallen. Curse of fireing Fulmer. lol
the cruse of phil fulmer
He is waiting for a much better or at least easyer job than TN.
He wants a big boy job like Bama Fla etc
Tenn has way to many bugs to be at that (pre prison camp)
